In my second interview at Sherwood Forest Faire, I speak with one of the founders and owners, George Appling. George's charmed life and career started in El Campo, TX. He then graduated from A&M and then pursued post-graduate work at Harvard. Soon after, he found himself traveling the world spending month in Russia, Europe, Austalia and more. Amazingly, no matter where he was or what he was doing, he always found a way to make a fall pilgrimage for a weekend at the Texas Renaissance, he did this for 38 years! They discuss her journey from Sharpstown on the outskirts of Houston, TX to living a life as an Artist on the Renaissance Circuit. Now residing in "Toon-Town' just outside the gates of the Texas Renaissance Festival, with her husband Larry Murley, Kelly cares for her horses, creates arts and does Taxes, specializing in preparing returns for other Renaissance artists on the circuit. Glenda was born and raised a cowgirl in Texas, but somehow found her way to the Texas Renaissance Festival as was satrting out.
