In this week's episode of the Historian's Movie Review I look at the 2014 film Selma. Topics discussed include Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X's approaches to Civil Rights, President Lyndon Johnson's involvement in the Civil Rights movement, and the recent SCOTUS ruling on same-sex marriage and its connection to the Civil Rights movement.
A message from your host --
Thank you all so much for your support and interest in this show over the last few months. I know updates have been increasingly sporadic, and I apologize for that. As I mention in this episode I will be moving this week to start a new job, and because of that updates will be less frequent. I expect I'll be able to get one more episode out in July, and one in August. Beyond that -- with the new job -- I'm not sure what the production schedule will be.
Also, I've been working on tweaking audio levels and trying some new production techniques to produce a better-sounding show for everyone. Please let me know how this new episode sounds.
Regardless, thank you all again for your support, for the downloads, and the words of encouragement. See you again in a few weeks!
