The lesson in this case? He was an asshole and he died due to his own stupidity. Along the way, he almost kills his son and his best friend and leaves his wife with the knowledge that her husband is out in the world in dog form. On the plus side, Samuel L. Jackson voices a dog and a monkey carries a puppy.
