With it being a relatively slow news week leading up to New York Comic-Con, we take on some extra mailbag questions including, but not limited to, a thoughtful discussion about breakfast cereals. We also talk about FOX's Gotham, the first comics we ever loved, and more.

After a one week hiatus we're back in action (still) talking about Villains Month, Battle of the Atom, and the week's hot comic book news! There's also a hefty portion of the show devoted to buffets, because buffets are gluttonous and awesome.

This week, we get around to talking about the Ben Affleck/Batman and James Spader/Ultron casting news, alongside Marvel's new digital initiative and Amanda Waller making an appearance on Arrow. Plus: Snake Plissken comics, the best of Jack Kirby, and music/comics pairings. Please note that due to technical difficulties, we had to use a back-up recording and thus, the audio is not quite as crisp as we'd like. Sorry....

As repeat listeners might know, Assemble! is generally recorded on Thursday mornings, so if you're expecting a bunch of discussion about the Ben Affleck Batman news... well, sorry to disappoint! We'll get to that next week. We do answer a bunch of mailbag questions, talk about supermarkets, and touch on the Grant Morrison/Killing Joke interpretation. ...

It was a long, hard road for those that voted on what IGN Assemble! #100's retrospective discussion would be about, but the winner is finally revealed with the use of a very special tie-breaker! info_outlineIGN Assemble!
Luckily, after the news dump of Comic-Con, the past week has been more or less free of any major news and so instead we're allotted some more time to talk about important stuff like Tom Strong, Mega Man/Sonic crossovers, and American Gladiators ("Assault" FTW!). ...
info_outlineFirst thing's first: I apologize for missing last week. I rocked my face off too hard for a band I love and was left without a voice, leaving us unable to do a show last week. It's my fault. Blame me. But we're back and in better health, kind of.
This week, we talk about some of the latest news items: Saga's controversy, Eisner nominations, the official announcement of Trinity War, and more. We also, as you might be able to tell from the title of this episode, discuss our immense love of froyo.
As for this week's books, we cover: Daredevil, Daredevil: End of Days, Age of Ultron, Captain America, Wonder Woman, and Justice League.
As always, there are spoilers for everything discussed, so you've been warned.
