ILL REPUTE! with Sovereign Syre & Ela Darling
Growing up in a bipartisan household, with a father who worked for Republican Governor Milliken and a mother who was involved with Democratic administrations, Whitmer was exposed to different political perspectives. This upbringing taught her the importance of working across the aisle and contributed to her pragmatic, results-driven approach to governance. Her parents’ careers in law and public service also gave Whitmer a firsthand understanding of the power of government to affect people’s lives, a lesson that has been a guiding principle in her political career. "Trad wife" is short for "traditional wife." It refers to women who embrace ultra-traditional gender roles, often associated with 1950s-style domesticity. These women typically prioritize homemaking, child-rearing, and supporting their husbands over pursuing careers or personal ambitions outside the home. We've got three women to discuss today: Lauren Southern, born in 1995 in British Columbia, was a prominent figure in the alt-right movement of the 2010s. Hannah Neeleman, known online as Ballerina Farm, is a 34-year-old mother of eight who lives on a 328-acre farm in rural Utah. ...

info_outlineRoselyn “Rosie” Keo was the daughter of Cambodian refugees. When she was younger, her parents got caught up in gambling and nightlife, taking off for Atlantic City, leaving Rosie and her siblings to be raised by their elderly grandparents. She was a wild child, getting in fights, having bad boyfriends, typical teenage rebel stuff. She was growing up Rockland County, and by the age of 17, she dropped out of school and got a job working at New York City Diner to help with expenses at home. There was a gentleman’s club nearby called, Lace, and the dancers would often come into the diner after their shifts. One night a manager at Lace tipped her $20 bucks on a $20 dollar ticket and told her she should hit up the club if she was interested in making “real money.” Soon after she went to the club, lied about her age, and started working the pole. What followed became the basis for the hit film Hustlers starring Jennifer Lopez, Lizzo and Cardi B.
