info_outlineWelcome to Cut Through the Noise, bringing you the truth behind the headlines in business and current events, Hosted by Dave Turano.
Not many people have the courage to walk away from the security of a great job, especially when they love what they do. But that's s exactly what Liam Martin did.
After fifteen years in broadcast television; the last four as morning anchor at WBZ Boston; Liam said goodbye to explore a new venture in the private sector.
Martin partnered up with Jackie Bruno and Rachel Robbins at Newsmaker Marketing; a Public Relations firm that helps its clients tell their stories through video, social media marketing, and by helping them to get hits on the news!
It's been six weeks since he made the announcement and he has no regrets at all! 'What it really boiled down to was my mental health, and wanting to be the husband and dad that I want to be,' is what Liam expressed to me when I asked him why he decided to do this.
About a year into working the morning shift, he knew something wasn't right... Getting up at 2:15 AM each day was taking a toll on him...fog-brain, depression, and anxiety had set in, only exacerbating some of the mental health challenges that he had experienced as a child.
Thankfully, with the support of his family, friends and regular therapy, he is working to incorporate several routines that have helped him to feel a little better.
You can hear what Liam's routines are by subscribing to Cut Through the Noise on Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music or YouTube.
Hope you enjoy this conversation. I know that I did!
