info_outlineHAPPY NEW YEAR my fabulous ADHD warriors!!! Let's charge into this year with purpose and start the year off zooming into the targets you create!
In this episode, I will recap the difference between a goal and a target, as well as the different between motivation and momentum! Our busy brains need targets to practice shooting for and momentum maker to keep us refocusing on that target you've made! Practice makes progress every time!
Be ready to talk to your trusted adult about a target you want to create and how you want to shoot for that target! Is it the target of getting to school one time in the morning? Or finding your calm when a sibling is bothering you? Or creating a bedtime flow routine that you can move through so that you can get better sleep and feel the best in your mind and body? It could even be a target of being a better active listener when spending time with friends and family!
Once you identify the target, then you can practice shooting for it with tools and strategies you've built in your toolbox? Do you need a visual morning flowchart, alarms set, grounding bedtime strategies, thought reframing/positive self-talk practice, etc... What does your brain need to success at hitting that target!?
The beauty of a target is that you don't get a bullseye every time and it's what you do when the shot falls short... We will talk about that next week!
Please reach out to me at www.katelynmabry.com to share your targets for the new year! Always here for you! Love you all!
