PilotPod: Suits LA - We Watched It So You Don't Have To
Release Date: 03/07/2025
The Legendary Ladies Podcast
It's time for Amy's spooky season pick - and we don't really mind that it is halfway through November. As anyone who listens to the podcast (or knows Amy at all) could guess, she was so excited to watch Guillermo Del Toro's Frankenstein; it is not, however, Kat's cup of tea (again, as you all should know). But that doesn't really matter, because as it turns out, Amy can talk about the film for literally 45 minutes almost entirely on her own. It's a fascinating look into the brain of two storytellers, one who loves gothic horror, and the other who may not love, but deeply respects it. Explore...

Join The Legendary Ladies (sans Morgan) for a quick pilot-pod of The Diplomat, starring Kerri Russel and Rufus Sewell. A show that Amy has watched all three seasons of, she wasn't quite sure that Kat would be interested. Tune in, and find out if Kat is intrigued enough to keep watching, whether or not the hosts think Gen Z will be interested in political dramas, and why Amy may just go back and watch the West Wing....again. Al this and more on this week's pilot pod! Next week? FRANKENSTEIN.

The Legendary Ladies are back with a legendary pick for Kat's spooky season movie choice. This week, Amy, Kat, and Morgan review 10 Cloverfield Lane which, despite being released almost 10 years ago, one of the hosts had never seen. The ladies discuss whether or not the story was predictable, if being a clearly labeled part of the Cloverfield saga helped or hindered believability, and if the ending ruined the film. They also realize that Amy...might like horror films? All this and more on the second of their Spooky Season picks. Want to hear episodes early? Subscribe to The...

The Legendary Ladies are back with one of their best Spooky Season's yet! For Morgan's pick, the hosts watched Sinners (some when it came out earlier this year, and some the night before they recorded). The ladies discuss what made Sinners such a successful film, what it means to have the name of Ryan Coogler on your project, the power of music in filmmaking, and whether or not Sinners needs a sequel (which, if it happens, should absolutely be named Saints).

They are BACK!! On this week's The Legendary Ladies Podcast, Amy, Morgan, and Kat return from their summer hiatus to review Netflix's "The Hunting Wives" (which, incidentally, was exactly nothing that Amy thought it was). The trio discuss the differences made from the book to the series, what about the show makes it so watchable, and discuss the power of the queer aspect of the show. The hosts also share a special encounter from a fan over the summer!

Interview with Comic Book Creator Tim Seeley About SyFy's Revival It's another legendary interview! On this week's The Legendary Ladies podcast Amy, Kat, and Morgan are joined by Tim Seeley, co-creator of the horror comic series "Revival" - the television adaptation of which has just started on SyFy starring Melanie Scrofano. The hosts discuss everything from the creation of the original comic, what it's like seeing your work on the big screen, and whether it's difficult to see your work modified for a different medium. All this and more on this week's Legendary Ladies Podcast!

The Legendary Ladies are back with something beautiful - a new episode discussing Miley Cyrus' new album! Amy, Kat, and Morgan dig into some of the lore and history of Miley Cyrus, share their thoughts on "interludes", and pick their top 3 songs on the album. They also get into an interesting conversation about the difference between streaming or shuffling an album, and listening to it to completion on a disc. They ask the question - does streaming change the fundamental art behind the compilation of an album? Does listening the album while watching the lyrics play on Amazon Music harken back...

It was no simple affair to get their schedules to line up - but it was worth it for Another Simple Favor! All three Legendary Ladies are back at it to review the Amazon Prime's buzzing film starring Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively. Amy, Kat, and Morgan dive into the film and find that they have different opinions on the film…which might have something to do with the fact that one of them *cough* Amy *cough* hadn’t seen the original. Can you still enjoy Another Simple Favor without the first Favor? Is there too much camp in Capri, or is the campiness the vermouth for a perfect martini?...

Have you heard of the queer dramedy The Wedding Banquet? Kat and Morgan managed to see the queer dramedy starring Bowen Yang, Kelly Marie Tran, Lily Gladstone and Han Gi-Chan during it's VERY short run. We talk about what worked for us, what didn't, and what we thought about that twist. Was one of the characters in a comedy and another in a drama? Is bird watching a real job? We dive into all these questions and more. Plus, we discuss how the release schedule for this movie did it no favors and how studios need to better support queer movies so we can get more of them. What did...

Queer romance in the time of AI? Kat and Morgan tackle the gayest episode of the recently released Black Mirror Season 7 in this duo episode. We chat about what worked and what didn't in Hotel Reverie, starring Issa Rae, Awkwafina, and Emma Corrin. We discuss whether this unconventional love story worked for us or if it was a bit too rushed. We also compare it to Black Mirror's beloved queer love story, San Junipero. Would we check back into Hotel Reverie? Listen and find out! What did you think of Hotel Reverie? Was it as good as San Junipero? Comment below! Support Kat, Morgan, and Amy by...
info_outlineAmy and Morgan are alone this episode while Kat takes the week off…and to be honest, she probably got the better part of the deal. Why? Because she didn’t have to watch the Suits LA premiere (we’re loath to call it a pilot, as it hardly resembles one).
On this duo episode, the hosts break down and analyze the first episode of the new series that comes with the Suits name, but bears little resemblance to the clever and classy writing of the original series. Amy and Morgan chat about how difficult it was to follow along on the bloated episode, whether or not the flashbacks served any purpose, and try to understand why they felt absolutely nothing for the characters.
Should you watch Suits LA? You probably don’t really need to. But if you have, and feel like commiserating - or if you haven’t, and you just want to see our hosts disappointed (we’re not mad, just disappointed), tune in!
