info_outlineHow do we know when we’re in shadow territory? And once we know, how do we work with it without losing ourselves? Phoebe and Eleni explore staying anchored to self while dancing with the shadow.
Notes
- Our shadow can be so hidden, that we don’t know what it is.
- A red flag that we may be in shadow territory is when we’re in reaction to someone or something.
- Some parts of the shadow side may be obvious and ‘lighter’ (habits that we know are not in alignment with what we actually need), while other parts are harder to detect.
- When our shadow side comes out, how do we work with the shadow without going down the rabbit hole and losing ourselves to it?
- Eleni shares a recent experience around shame, what came up and how she worked with it
- Shame can be part of our shadow; anything that stems from someone else’s agenda or takes away our sense of self can be an indicator that the shadow side is peeking through
- Intuition is another place where there can be shame intertwined. Anything that is outside of the cultural norm can have shame wrapped around it.
- The shadow side never goes away; we either look at it or it will get bigger and bigger until we have no choice but to address it.
- Self care and surrounding ourselves with people we love and trust can be a great resource for when we’re in shadow side territory.
- Phoebe shares a practice for gauging how far in the shadow side she is as a way of preventing herself from getting pulled into it fully.
