As the demand for treatment providers rises, primary care providers are pivotal in addressing this gap by initiating OUD treatments. Given that primary care often serves as the first point of contact within the healthcare system, it's crucial for providers to identify patients who could benefit from OUD treatment. However, many providers fail to recognize these patients and may refer them elsewhere, missing opportunities for immediate care.
