About the Podcast Guest:
Dr. Emma Acerbo earned her Master's degree in Physiology and Neuroscience, with a focus on molecular, cellular, and applied neuroscience, from Aix Marseille University in France. She completed her PhD in December 2022 at the Institut de Neurosciences des Systèmes, INSERM, where she investigated both invasive and non-invasive brain stimulation techniques for treating epilepsy.
In March 2023, Dr. Acerbo joined the Translational Neuro-engineering Research Lab at Emory University to advance her studies on Temporal Interference, a cutting-edge non-invasive brain stimulation method. Her current research examines the mechanisms of Temporal Interference at the cellular level. It includes translational studies using mouse models of epilepsy, as well as work with patients suffering from eplepsy.
