Nobody Asked Me, But Let Me Tell You
Charlie shares fascinating insights from an article (What It’s Like to Be an Advice Columnist During a Global Pandemic, TIME) that interviews several of the most popular advice columnists in America today to get their take on how the advice people sought changed drastically during the pandemic and how that, in turn, changed them and how they give advice.

This problem was plucked from ARTNews and their fairly new advice column for the art community, Hard Truths. Charlie delves into a problem involving a two successful brothers and the art and technology that divides them (among other things).

It’s a story old as time itself — the son has values and beliefs that directly clash with his father’s. He’s a leftist, progressive, liberal democrat. His father is (according to his description) a “right wing racist asshole.” They fight constantly, like drunken sailors in a bar.
Can this relationship be salvaged? Before you jump to the defense of the leftist son, take a listen at how Charlie breaks down the problem and solution (there’s enough blame to go around, and the solution, like the problem, is complicated).
This week’s problem was submitted to “Ask Andrew WK“ in the Village Voice.
