An Artist and illustrator, Newson also teamed with Arnold to do the illustrations in his second book, Robert E. Lee's orderly A Black Youth's Southern Inheritance. Arnold describes Gregory Newson as one of the most fascinating people he has met on his Black Confederate Journey. Newson, known throughout the country for sporting his Gray wool Confederate uniform, is a unique representation of Confederate diversity.
