For many of us, Fred Savage was an important part of our formative years, thanks to his roles in The Wonder Years and The Princess Bride. He's also an established director and producer, but for watch enthusiasts, he’s famous for another on-screen role — Hodinkee’s Talking Watches, in which he appeared in 2018. We caught up with Savage to see what he’s been up to since, and it turns out — quite a lot. We caught up with Savage to see what he’s been up to since, and it turns out — quite a lot. We thought we knew what we were getting into when we asked Marc Montagne, author of 'Invest in Watches: The Art of Watch Collecting' onto the pod. We prepared questions around market motility, hot models and the ethics of flipping, but it quickly became apparent that it wasn't going to be that kind of interview.

Marc, a watch industry professional, wasn't interested in buying and selling to make a quick buck — he was in it for the long haul. Marc is more interested in investing in quality and the style of watch that works for you. It might not be the textbook definition of investment, but we respect the hell out of the approach.

Before chatting with Marc, Felix and Andy ponder what Hodinkee's acquisition by Watches of Switzerland means for the industry (and how much it sold for).
