In Mark 15:33–39, we’re confronted with the sobering truth of the cross. Before we can long for the life that never fades, we must first face the reality that everything in this world—including ourselves and those we love—is perishing. Every achievement, every possession, every treasure here is already slipping away. Only when we see that clearly will we truly hunger for the unfading glory of what Christ has secured for us. Jesus has done it. The debt is paid. An eternal inheritance is waiting in heaven. The question is—will you trust Him?

This week we landed in Mark 14:53–72. Here we see Jesus stand firm in the face of lies and injustice. He speaks truth, endures suffering, and stays on mission to save sinners—because He knows the end: every knee will bow before Him. We, like Jesus, need to use Scripture to see clearly the truth of our circumstances. Look to the end. Scripture is truth. We are not alone in our struggle to bear witness in a world that hates us. Do not be shocked—endure by the power of the Spirit.
info_outlineThis Sunday's passage recounts the moment when Jesus foretells Peter’s denial. It reminds us that on our own, we will never fully “have it together.” Instead, we must cling to the cross of Christ—the only hope that upholds us and truly sets us free. Jesus extends an open invitation: “Come to me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Surrender your life to Christ. In Christ you are completely known, yet completely loved.
