Produced by http://Fastpitch.TV - I met former Olympian Shelly Stokes a few weeks ago. She played in the 1996 Olympics. She took a few minutes to come on the show. Here is the interview.

http://SoftballJunk.com is a great resource for fastpitch bats.

Shelly Stokes talks about how she started playing softball when she was 9 years old. She mentions how her parents never played sports and asked her parents permission to try out softball and enjoyed it from the beginning. For the first four to five years she played recreational softball and then came to love the sport with all of her success and good coaching. As she got older she began participating in fastpitch softball travel teams. Shelly starting catching in High School in Sacramento and continued into college at Fresno State University. Shelly explains her journey from graduating college and playing in the women's nationals Softball Circuit. Shelly and five of her teammates were awarded All- American which automatically entered them for a chance to be a part of the Women's Olympic Fastpitch Softball Team. In the Atlanta Olympics Shelly mentions how appreciative she was to have to been a part of the U.S.A. team. After Shelly's Olympic career she began working, got married, and had two children. She now enjoys her life with her family and appreciates the opportunities to be a part of events like The Fellowship of Christian Athletes vs. The Wounded Warriors. Shelly rounds up her interview with words of encouragement to all young athletes to stay positive. Whether it be softball or any other sport that that young athlete may be passionate about then to follow through with that passion and never let anyone tell them any differently. Thank you Shelly Stokes!!
