Rebounding Faith
Marriage is a journey that is eternal, a moment to moment opportunity to love and be loved to the best of your ability: 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails.... " - 1 Corinthians 13:4 - 8a (NIV) But what happens when our marriage...

The book of Psalms is not Fast Food! It is meant to come back to again and again, slowly digest and meditate on them. This book is considered to be the most widely read and highly treasured of all the books in the Old Testament. In fact, this book is the one Jesus quoted from the most. The book of Psalms are a gift to us! It gives us great insight into God's nature as well as shows how He responds in the moment, and over time, to our prayers, our pain and our joy. The Psalms have a special ability to put words to our emotions and language to our experiences. They help us to both process how we...

Faith. Hope. Waiting. Patience. Pain. Resilience. When experiencing a lengthy trial, this can describe the cycle we all walk through. In 1 Samuel chapter one, we learn about Hannah's trial: Struggling with infertility for years. The Bible refers to this difficult time (intensity meets long duration) as "Bitterness of Soul" (1 Samuel 1:10). It's the time that God is working in our lives to bring about a greater result. While we cannot predict what the outcome will be, we aspire to walk through this "Bitterness of Soul" with our eyes on God. This is how the story of Hannah,...

Have you ever felt that your faith was in a rut? Where you seem to be fairly complacent in your faith and coasting? We have all had times where our faith seems to be on "autopilot" (i.e. we pray the same prayers, read the same verses, listen to the same songs, etc). One key word is THE SAME. The Bible is very clear when it comes to complacency and luke warm faith (Revelation 3:16). There is definitely a place for ritual and routine in our faith walk, but it is important for us to continue to mature in our faith. God's desire is for us to continue to expand our faith -- and be an active...

We are back NEXT WEEK with a New Episode (August 3rd)! There is purpose in the struggle -- and in the wrestling match. This episode received much feedback related to our struggles and to some degree God's Will. At times when we are struggling, it's hard to see how God is shaping and molding us through the Wrestling Match. In this episode, Catherine, Gina and Kristen explore Jacob's journey to becoming Israel through an all night, life changing wrestling match with God. He aims to refine our character and can even use our brokenness to accomplish His purposes. Join us for a...

New Episode will be back August 3rd! This week, we are featuring a favorite past episode of Catherine's where we dive deep into choosing faith over feeling. "Ive always been fascinated with the concept of walking by faith and not by sight -- fighting the temptation to only rely on what we can see. God's presence and power can appear invisible when our circumstances seem overwhelming, but we must push back and fight the temptation to walk only by sight (or what's visible). I selected this episode because I love the idea of not just believing in GOD but believing GOD that He WILL get us to the...

New Episode will be back August 3rd! Don't miss this gem from last year - this week is Kristen's pick: "I chose this episode because we talk about how desperate we can feel when times are tough. It's just when we think things couldn’t get any more challenging… boom, something else happens. We compare it to being in the ocean and feeling like you’re drowning as you are smacked by yet another wave. It’s in these moments of desperation when God can do some of his best work, he meets us where we are 'when deep calls out to deep' and provides the strength we need to keep swimming. I...

This week we are featuring a favorite past episode of Gina's. One simple word: Comparisons. Comparison can be the thief of all joy - so why do we do it? If you can identify with the struggle of not feeling good enough or worthy, if comparing yourself and not measuring up is a theme for you or someone you know - this episode will resonate with you. It's at these times, we have to remind ourselves that we are the daughter of God, loved and created uniquely with purpose. Catherine, Gina and Kristen look at the dangers of comparing and contrasting ourselves with others and how our...

It has been said that surrender is a journey from the outer turmoil to the inner peace. The peace we hold in our hearts is probably one of the most difficult parts of our faith. In order to obtain the peace that Jesus promises, we must first let go of our own will and surrender to His. John 14:27 says , "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." There is a process to walking in peace; it starts with accepting God's Will, then surrendering to His will and finally trusting that God has a...
info_outlineConnection is powerful! We are wired to connect - both with God and others. Statistics show that we are lonelier than we have ever been due to Covid-19. The exponential growth of social media and other online tools has only widened that divide.
The Bible is very clear that we are not alone and that God is actually closer to us when we are feeling lonely. Psalm 147:3 says that "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Through our connection with God and His word, we will find connection and purpose with others. When we honor one another above ourselves we create an unbreakable connection anointed by God's love (Romans 12:10).
Join Catherine, Gina and Kristen as they look at why we experience loneliness and how, through God's grace, we can find connection and purpose.
