info_outlineHello, and welcome to the introductory episode of the Sandwich Weekly podcast. I’m Robert, the creator of this podcast and your host. I started this podcast to provide you with a calendar of activities and events taking place in and around the City of Sandwich over a two week period.
Unless you make almost daily visits to several Facebook pages, nearly a dozen websites, read a local paper or two, and listen to a local radio station every day, you probably won’t be aware of all the activities taking place in our area. Well this podcast will do the work for you, taking all that activity and event information and providing it in a way that you can access at your convenience; any time and any place. A new episode of this podcast will be released every Thursday. Normally I’ll include activities and events happening in Sandwich, Somonauk, Plano, and Sheridan - though events in other cities may be included from time-to-time.
The Sandwich Weekly podcast is free and available on iTunes, Google Play, Soundcloud, Stitcher, on the web at sandwichweekly.com and on Spotify and iHeart Radio in the near future. You can use any podcast player available though I would recommend a player that displays show notes and allows you to skip forward and back in the podcast. In the near future I’ll be including chapter markers that will allow you to jump to events on a specific day so, if possible, use a podcast player that supports chapters. An excellent podcast player for iPhones is Overcast. Pocket Casts is also a very good player and is available for both Apple and Android devices. Both Overcast and Pocket Casts support show notes and chapters.
A note about show notes… all the calendar events that I mention in the podcast will be listed in the show notes. At the end of the show notes there will also be a contact list for sponsors of events. You should contact the event sponsors if you have any questions about activities and events listed in the podcast.
