info_outlineA live interview with an NFL Super Bowl quarterback (aka, the "SmartHER Dad"), my dad, Bob Lee! Stories from a time when the players earned $10 a day ... and sometimes got dressed in college classrooms (yes, at Harvard).
Plus ~ What is it like to play in a Super Bowl? What should we consider about young kids playing tackle football?
This interview was filmed LIVE with our insiders - here's how to become one!
------------------------------------------
We have navigated another really busy news week, with many heavy topics. One of the reasons I love the Super Bowl? It provides the opportunity for the nation to pause ... and share an experience that reminds us of something familiar. On the field, we see grit, fierce competition, camaraderie, triumph and tenacity — all a reflection of the American spirit. And when you think about it, the Super Bowl reflects a truly unique American success story: the National Football League exists HERE and only here.
The other reason I love the Super Bowl? It reminds me of my family. Growing up in San Francisco, we all looked forward to Sunday afternoons during football season because we had a personal connection to the game (and immediate access to an excellent commentator and analyst!). My father, Bob Lee, played in the NFL and participated in 3 Super Bowls — with the Vikings and the Rams (he also played for the Falcons). My brothers and I never experienced this part of his life with him, but we got to hear all the many incredible stories he has shared (and continues to)!
So ... cue the SmartHER Father!
