Because of that drop, weight gain is extremely common. You can combat menopause induced weight gain by increasing your activity. Gardening, going for walks, and taking the stairs are all ways to increase your activity. Staying away from processed foods like white bread, pastries, and processed meats and replacing them with more nutrient-filled foods like fruits, vegetables, and legumes can help you consume fewer calories. Sleep is also an important tool to combat weight gain. Make sure you are getting the recommended 7-8 hours of sleep a night. Talk to your doctor if you have questions about menopause.
