I started posting a new Biblical Studies Series on "The Love of God." To really understand the love of God, you have to go to the Bible. You can not go by what you hear from people. They may be right, or they may be wrong. We will read the Bible in this series and see what it says. Not from what people say. Not from what movies, songs or poetry says. What we hear from the world philosophy...

The Notes from the Podcast
God bless you. Below are all the Scriptures written out so you can follow along with the podcast 436 – Expect Good Goverment.
Believers have two great tools: the Bible and the holy spirit. We need to use them.
Timothy 2:1 – 2 “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings [doesn't apply in the USA], and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
Our first Duty as Saints meeting in Fellowship is to pray. This is primary in way of Outreach.
Verse 1: For all men and people, we are to pray for all.
Verse 2 states that all in authority are the ones responsible for governing. To sum up, in one word, the government. It says we are to pray for our government first.
This does not usually happen. Lots of other groups get prayers before the government.
We are to pray that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty or reverence to God. The Constitution of the United States sums up that we should live a quiet and Peaceful life and all honesty in reverence to God.
Timothy 2:3 “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;”
The word 'this' in the context refers to government, good government. God's will is for us to have a good government, and we are to expect good government.
Why good government? It is God's will that all men be saved, have salvation, and come to an accurate knowledge of the truth. Good government makes it possible for all men to be saved and come to an accurate knowledge of God's Word.
1 Timothy 2:4 “Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”
Why good government? God's will for mankind to be saved was so intense that he had Jesus Christ sacrifice his life for all people. Believing in Jesus Christ's accomplishments now makes salvation available to all people. That is one reason to pray for good government. We should have the same aspirations and feelings as God does for others. But people need to come to an accurate knowledge of the truth to get saved.
Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?”
God needs preachers. Which kind of government would be better, good or bad? Good government maintains Law and Order and a sound infrastructure, keeps Communications open, preserves civil liberties, and protects freedom of speech and assembly. These are all in the Constitution of the United States. Good government helps the preaching of the Word. Bad government hinders the preaching of the Word.
God wants us to pray for our government and expect good government. If we know that God's will is good government, we can pray for it and expect it.
James 1:6 – 7 “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.”
1 John 5:14 “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.”
Mark 11:24 “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”
When you pray, believe that you receive it, and you will have it. We get it when we believe. The manifestation comes at the appropriate time. We pray, we believe, and we will receive.
Psalm 75:4 – 7 “I said unto the fools, Deal not foolishly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn: 5 Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck. 6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. 7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.”
God does the promoting. We do the praying.
1 Chronicles 29:10 – 14 “Wherefore David blessed the LORD before all the congregation: and David said, Blessed be thou, LORD God of Israel our father, for ever and ever. 11 Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all. 12 Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all. 13 Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name. 14 But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.”
Psalm 24:1 – 10 “<A Psalm of David.> The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. 2 For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods. 3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place? 4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. 5 He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation. 6 This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah. 7 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. 8 Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. 9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. 10 Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.”
2 Samuel 23:1 – 3 “Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said, 2 The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue. 3 The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.”
The just, and those who fear God, those who revere God—these are the people we should look for and pray for. When I look for someone to vote for, these are the people that I want to vote for. God will have to sought everything out, and he can do it. I put my trust in God.
It's more important that I pray than who I vote for.
May God bless you Abundantly
Steve
