The More Abundant Life

God 513 – When did the Shepherds and the Wise Men Meet? God is perfect. Jesus Christ is perfect. So God's Word must be perfect. God cannot contradict himself. When reading the Bible, we need to use all the keys required to let the word of God interpret itself. We need to be like detectives following the clues. Two things, amongst others, that I watch for are tradition versus truth, and I never trust pictures. We need to look at the words closely. The Birth of Jesus Luke 2:1 – 21 “And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world...

We're going to look at the first 17 years of Paul's life, after his conversion on the road to Damascus. Acts 9:22 – 31 “But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ. 23 And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him: 24 But their laying await was known of Saul. And they watched the gates day and night to kill him. 25...

God 511 – Paul's Prize in Literature How do we know anything about the Apostle Paul? It's through the God-breathed Scriptures—the Believer's Prize in Literature. The Church Epistles are the most fantastic literature ever written because they teach all the truth we need to live more abundantly, be successful, and experience personal victories. KJV Romans 1:1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, 2 (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,) 3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed...

God 510 – Paul of The Bible This is the start of a series I'm doing on Paul of the Bible. The second most important person written about in the Bible is the Apostle Paul. Second only to Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son. Like any historical figure, he has different parts of his life. He had an early influence, learning and changing throughout his life. We are going to look at Paul's life in the Bible. The Bible is the only accurate recording of Paul's life. In Acts, Chapters 6 and 7, Stephen delivers a comprehensive Old Testament history lesson. It ends up in Chapter 7:51-60. Acts 7:51...

We want to profit from the “all scripture.” “given by inspiration of God” is one word in Greek: Theopneustos – Theo, meaning God, and Pneustos, meaning breathed, or God Breathed—a figure of speech.  John 4:24 “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” God is Spirit. 2...

It is to study and search the scriptures to see what they say, then you can live that way Matthew 22:29 “Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.” We need to know what the Scriptures say and know the power of God to live extraordinary lives today. God 504 – Thinking and The Renewed Mind, Keeping your Mind on God's Word The start and the Finish of the renewed mind is to watch what you're thinking. To develop good habits by continually thinking about them from The Word. Eliminate negative and unproductive habits, and reconsider your perspective on the concepts and precepts of God's Word. A simple way to do this is to establish a daily regimen of reading God's Word and praying for the things you would like to see happen in your life and in the lives of others. I want to point out some keys, but it goes without saying that there are many...

484 – The Ministry of Jesus Christ

Below are written all the Scriptures and some of my notes, making it easy for you to follow along with the lesson right from your devices.

To teach everything involved in Jesus Christ's ministry would take many hours, but here's a teaching on the part of Jesus Christ's Ministry that we can see from the Bible.

John 8:28b & 29 “I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things. 29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.”

His father, God, taught The Word to him him. The Word is the contact point for learning about God, and His son, Jesus Christ. Later, after Jesus Christ received holy spirit he could hear from God directly. Just like all that have receive can.

Genesis 3:15 “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”

Jesus first learned about himself here. He continued studying and searching the scriptures by the freedom of his will and believing. He believed this great promise first made in the Scriptures was everything Jesus needed to know to perform his ministry.

Luke 2:46 & 47 “And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions. 47 And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.”

His parents first taught Jesus, but later, he wanted to know more. As soon as he was old enough by Judean law, he asking questions and learning more about the Scriptures.

Luke 4:17 “And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, 18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. 20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. 21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.”

By this time, near his 30th birthday, he knew, believed, and started his official Ministry.

Mark 7:6 – 9 “He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. 7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. 8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. 9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.”

He knew and Believed.

Luke 11:52 Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.”

The key is the Scriptures, The word of God.

Matthew 7:28 & 29 “And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:”

The doctrine is The Scriptures, The God of God.

Luke 4:32 And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power.”

Jesus's Ministry was one of the words, but Miracles will be hindered without believing.

Matthew 13:58 “And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.”

Being hindered by not fully believing will give you just partial results.

John 4:41 “And many more believed because of his own word;”

Jesus Christ had a Ministry of words. God's Word.

John 17:8 “For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.”

What do you think? Believe.

John 5:39, 46 & 47 “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. 46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. 47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?”

You are who you are today because of what you believe. You'll be where your believing brings you tomorrow. That's why knowing the Scriptures, accepting them, and living victoriously is essential. Believe in God and believe in yourself.

Matthew 22:29 “Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.”

This is the theme verse for my book How to Read the Bible for Understanding and Power. First, you have to know the Scriptures, and then you believe them. That is power for living victoriously.

Until the next time we get together, may God bless you abundantly.
