Unregistered drivers and car thieves are being hunted down by hi-tech police cars fitted with 360-degree cameras. The technology is currently being rolled out in NSW and is under trial in South Australia. Fairfield police officers have used the technology to track down 6750 stolen cars since December. The highway patrol cars have also detected 2500 unregistered drivers, 1100 uninsured vehicles and 240 unlicensed drivers.
