I was only a baby when this happened but I’ve heard the story so many times over the years, it’s almost like I was there too.
Ruth Blumenfeld woke with a start from a deep sleep. Floodlights streamed in through her bedroom window. She was completely shocked and terrified to hear the rumbling of troops and tanks, just outside her door, gathering in her suburban cul de sac.
Naturally, she woke my dad. “We’ve go to get out of here!” she cried. But he shook his head bewildered. “What are you talking about?”
It turns out what Ruth was seeing wasn’t happening in her own backyard. She was picking up on what was going on thousands of miles away.It was so real that she couldn’t fathom why nobody else could see or hear the vivid scene we was describing.
