Dr. Marvette Lacy Ph.D., (she/her) is the founder and CEO of Qual Scholars, where she helps higher education folks finish their dissertations and start a profitable consulting business.
Dr. Lacy started her business as a doctoral student looking for more freedom outside of the confines of the ivory tower. She wanted a life where she could design her days on her terms while doing work she loved.
Dr. Lacy’s research uses critical theories to explore the identity development of college women, the dynamics of power and privilege in sexual violence and response movements, and the intersections of race and gender in student activism.
Dr. Lacy’s Student Affairs professional background is mainly within Higher Education areas such as residence life and housing, student conduct, campus-based women’s centers, and first-year programs. Dr. Lacy left Higher Education in 2020 to pursue full-time entrepreneurship.
Dr. Lacy lives in the Atlanta area with her adorable puppy, Sir.
