Interview with Adam of Overland History and Blue Ridge Overland Gear Fame

We live in a strange time where so many of us want to shop online for equipment designed to get us outside.  I get it! Shopping from the comfort of the couch at any time is very appealing. But so much of the equipment that we use for overland travel is really expensive and it would be nice to see it up close and explore it a bit before spending hard earned money.  Artemis Overland Hardware is located in Springfield, Missouri and you can visit them in person.  You can see all that equipment in person, pick it up there, and head straight out for an adventure right from their shop.

Artemis Overland Hardware only stocks the best equipment.  Anything you pick is going to stand up to the harsh environments that you’ll be subjecting them to.

At ArtemisOverland.com you’ll find a wide selection of roof top tents and ground tents from companies like Oz Tent, 23Zero, Eezi Awn.  Outfit your camp kitchen with a SnoMaster Fridge, a Tembo Tusk Skottle, or a stove from Kovea or Front Runner. Artemis Overland has a large selection of camp furniture as well as roof racks for a wide range of vehicles.  Recovery gear, winches, lights solar power, dual battery systems, Action Trax, GPS units, and much, much more can be found at ArtemisOverland.com or in the brick and mortar store.

Artemis Overland Hardware is also one of the very few approved Goose Gear installers and Ironman 4x4 dealers located in the central United States.

Whether you’re going to start a trip to Tierra Del Fuego or simply hitting the forest roads in the Ozarks for the weekend, Artemis Overland Hardware has just what you need.  Visit online at artemisoverland.com or visit their awesome showroom in Springfield, Missouri.

Hey Guys,

I have spent the last few weeks listening to your entire podcast library while at work. I dig it! Great content, real world product reviews, entertaining format and great stories and guests. Thanks for all the efforts to bring people a podcast worth paying attention to.

I am hoping you could give me the details on which Baofeng radio that you have mentioned on the podcast. I am looking on Amazon right now and see a couple in that $24 to $30 range and wanted to make sure I purchase the correct one you had mentioned that they are stopping sales of. Is it the UV-5R?

If you could tell me the actual one that would be great. I'll be sure to order through the the podcast Amazon link and score a couple decals for the truck.

Thanks! I look forward to listening to future casts...

We have a 2004 F-250 6.0.(ya I know, but it's been very reliable so far) It's mostly stock for now but building a list to make this thing a beast of an off road/survival vehicle.

We enjoy camping and four wheeling, nothing extreme, just getting off the pavement and finding some nice trials.

I say survival vehicle because we were part of the Camp fire in Paradise Ca and lost almost everything, including our daughter who we got out with just a few moments to spare.. After that experience My wife and I have decided we need a vehicle that can fit our whole family, pets and enough gear to live for at least a few days away from the rest of the world and that can get through a barrier or smaller vehicle if the situation calls for it.

Our daughter was sleeping and we showed and had about 10 minutes to get her woke up, grab the dogs and a handful of clothes and leave as the house itself caught fire, if we had got caught up with a road block or abandoned vehicle we very well might have lost her...thats why we want a beast!

Thanks again for an entertaining and educational podcast! I'll be hitting you up for the codes after I receive these radios!

Hello Dan and company,

I recently started listening to your podcast, I went way back to episode 1 to work my up, currently on episode 18. I am looking to purchase a 4x4, a [YJ] in particular. I found a low mileage rig but it has the 4 cylinder, 2.4 L engine. Are there any pros and cons to this engine over the 6 cylinder? Keep it up guys big fan of the podcast, thanks.

Gabino Barrera

Hi Dan, Craig, and Rich! I've been listening for a while and I love the show and the content. I'm in the Air Force and I've been lucky enough to experience offroading all over the world. Japan had the best by far but I love living in Germany because its given me the opportunity to buy my baby. A 1977 Volvo C304! I just hope that I'm qualified to listen to the podcast with my extra axle and all.

I'm wondering where in your travels has been all your favorite or most exotic places to offroad.

Thanks for the podcast and the knowledgeable content!

Grüße, (greetings)

 Odin Stevens
