Today we dive into a well know story about a young shepherd boy who took down a man who was, by all accounts, a giant; with nothing but a sling and a stone. Imagine a warrior like the mountain from Game Of Thrones who was 6.9” tall. A fearsome warrior who can crush a mans skull. Yet, according to the Bible, Goliath was “Six cubits and a span” (1 Samuel 17:4) which, by somes calculations, be about 9 feet 9 inches tall. A man trained for war since he was a kid. (1 Samuel 17:33). The approximate speed of the stone that David slung at Goliath was about 150 miles an hour which was only enough to knock Goliath out, giving David the time to draw Goliaths sword and cut off his head.
