info_outlineThis month, we feature Clement "Coxsone" Dodd who was an incredibly influential Jamaican record producer and the founder of legendary Studio One records. With motivated organization and a sharp ear for talent Coxsone took Jamaican music from Sound System street parties to international acclaim by helping to introduce the world to artists such as Bob Marley & the Wailers, Lee Scratch Perry, Peter Tosh, The Skatalites, Alton Ellis, Burning Spear, The Heptones, The Maytals and countless others. He continued putting out albums, working at his label and operating a record store until his passing at the age of 72 and his lasting impact on the world of music carries his legacy into the future.
