The Mosaic Podcast

this is a conversation that you have to listen to.  it is unique not only in what we spoke of but in the ability and flexibility of David, a brilliant man, to be kind and generous enough to change direction midstream with me and move away from what most if not everyone wants him to share, to answer my quirky questions and to challenge his own edges.

Ep 095 It’s Ok To Be Human with Andrea Garfield show art Ep 095 It’s Ok To Be Human with Andrea Garfield

The Mosaic Podcast

i found our conversation to be easy, like sitting on the front porch in a comfortable chair sipping a lemonade.  there was something very clean and wholesome about it. we spoke about feeling feelings, how we learn to be separate, the gift of children, and more.. i could tell you all about it, but that would rob you of the opportnity to experience this conversation for yourself from your own point of view and feel what you feel from it.

The Mosaic Podcast

i must say, this was one of the most interesting podcasts that i have ever done, because in the middleman our conversation, Martin stepped back to analyse what he was thinking and feeling from a curiosity perspective and then i did the same thing from a place of holding space and listening.

Ep 091 When Fiction Becomes Reality - Sugar Mountain with Alfred Alcorn show art Ep 091 When Fiction Becomes Reality - Sugar Mountain with Alfred Alcorn

The Mosaic Podcast

Sometimes in the world of fiction and science fiction, a writer writes a story only to find years later, what the writer saw happen, actually happens. Alfred Alcorn is not a prophet, a psychic or a doomsayer, he is just a brilliant author who has seen enough of the world to tell stories of a world that could be.

It didn’t take long for Karina’s interest in technology to take hold. By the end of 2014, Karina decided to shift her focus on future trends moved by Silicon Valley’s energy and its ecosystem of the big and bold startups disrupting conventional businesses, their founders and funders, many of whom have become household names globally by making the impossible possible.

Karina is passionate about bleeding-edge technologies and innovation realizing that they are the most powerful drivers of transformation and success, basically shaping all aspects of life whether cultural, economic, political, sociological, medical, psychological, physiological, and so on.

An entrepreneurial technologist by training, she is also a consultant for start-ups and a bridge-builder between the Philippines and Silicon Valley’s ecosystems.

here is also a suggested reading list for anyone interested in knowing more about the subject Karina touched upon here:

As you now know, my passion is in bleeding-edge technologies (big thinkers and big ideas - current and historic), particularly, AI, Robotics, and the brain, mind, and consciousness (Psychology, Neuroscience, Philosophy). Here are some of the books that opened the "door" for me, basically blew my mind, and, like Alice, I just fell into the rabbit hole and into this wild, wild, insanely awesome world that is magical. "Curiouser and curiouser, indeed," said Karina... The more I know, the more I don't know, ergo, the more I want --- and need --- to know.  Besides these mind-bending topics, I am also doing a lot of reading on anything and all theoretical physics, quantum mechanics, quantum technology, quantum computers, cosmology ... the foundational technologies that will be the avenues to more possibilities, more potentials, infinite discoveries towards a desirable future for humanity, the future...

Without further ado, here are my top favorite books thus far:

"Swedish philosopher Nick Bostrom from the University of Oxford. It argues that if machine brains surpass human brains in general intelligence, then this new superintelligence could replace humans as the dominant lifeform on Earth. Sufficiently intelligent machines could improve their own capabilities faster than human-computer."
  • Industries of the Future - Alec Ross - American technology policy expert and the former Senior Advisor for Innovation to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during her time as Secretary of State his insight on where we are headed and how to prepare for this coming world.
  •  The Age of Surveillance Capitalism - Shoshan Zuboff - well-written, well-researched book on how our minds are manipulated by technology for capitalism
