This special bonus episode on The Muscle Car Place is brought to you live from the Holley Moparty 2024 produced by FM3 event services at the Beech Bend raceway in Bowling Green Kentucky! All of your favorite show hosts and co-hosts loaded up and drove out to the birthplace of new Corvettes and the global headquarters of Holley Performance Products to see the fifth annual gathering of Mopar enthusiasts. Many old and new Dodge, Plymouth, Chrysler, AMC, and Jeep vehicles were there showing off just how unique this crowd can be. We got to show up and interview some of the interesting people there and bring it to you to get an idea of how the whole event went down.

This year the whole gang was able to get together and just hang out and have a great time with cars. Cody Young (@CodyCrafted ), Garrett Daniels (RnDFabworks.com), Nathan Warren (@warren_customs_llc ), Corndog, Bernie, and myself roamed around the Moparty event checking out the Drag Racing, Autocross, Swap meet and the amazing show cars. We got so much content that we put it into two shows. We met up with her only inches away from the "Kibbe Lee" and discussed the show and her life with the questions every Dukes fan wants to know.

 

Dylan McCool YouTube: We once again met up with professional automotive YouTuber Dylan McCool out behind the Beach Bend Raceway outhouse. It was our chance to have our yearly discussion about his life and times as a fulltime YouTuber and see what automotive rescues and adventures he has been up to. He filled us in on the history of his 1969 Charger and the trip he took to pick it up. Dylan is totally hands on with his recoveries and working on the vehicles so he is a wealth of information on the technical aspects of any of his projects. I asked him a lot of questions about fuel injection, changes he made to the Charger, and even where YouTube is now for automotive content ("shorts" are where it's at now). His responses are very insightful and informative and he is more than willing to share in an interview or on his videos. Blake Andermann - Sublime Technologies: Modern engine swaps CAN be simple! We caught up with Blake Andermann from Submlibe Technologies (formerly DIY Hemi) for the latest and greatest info on his simple and affordable wiring harness sap kits. In short, his company has developed a way to use as much from a "junyarhd pullout" powertrain as possible - INCLUDING their factory harness. Using his adapters with the factory harness he said he can hook up a new Hemi and have it running two minutes or less!. This means you can drop in a new power train and simply hook up and go. Blake sees the Mopar market as underserved compared to LS swaps and Coyote conversions and has a goal of making it easy for anyone to enjoy fuel efficient high power in a classic vehicle. Raymond Kohn - Stunt Life: One of the most talked about jumps recently is the General Lee jump at the 2024 Mopar Nationals and Raymond Kohn was behind the wheel. Raymond was very upfront about how he is a self taught stuntman and everything he has done has been an adventure in learning on the fly (literally). He said growing up he dreamed of owning a General Lee and he knew if he had one he would never stop at a stop sign or at a school ever again. He would simply drift through the turns and jump over the school busses and avoid all of his problems! Years later he has grown up a little but still had the dreams of jumping a General Lee and has been living that dream through much effort and money of his own. He formed a show team and to date has performed 29 jumps, one of which was in Canada just a few months ago! Per Raymond, it is indeed a terrifying thing to jump a car.....but the thrill of hitting the ramp is incredibly addicting. He believes he can withstand about 3 jumps per year (physically) and would like to stay in the business for another 10-15 years.

Prior to 2021 he utilized really rough '68-'70 Chargers to perform the stunts, but then followed the "Crown Vic Re-skinned As a General Lee" model developed by James Smith. Since then all of this jumps have utilized that method, with AMD metal replacement panels and a Crown Vic drivetrain and chassis. It looks good enough flying and does not destroy any more Chargers.
