Vedic Astrology – Full Moon in Virgo
Release Date: 03/14/2014
The Moon is going to be full in Virgo on March 16th at about 1 o’clock Eastern Time in a Nakshatra called Uttaraphalguni.
Uttaraphalguni is ruled by a god called Aryaman, the god of contracts and official business. It is where the power of the kingdom filters down into a lot of tasks and work, and in order to do that we need to delegate all these details and tasks. This is how Leo becomes Virgo and the Nakshatra of Uttaraphalguni has a lot to do with that.
The previous Nakshatra, Purvaphalguni, is related to courtship and romance while Uttaraphalguni is related to marriage which is like the work, commitment and effort to build, organize and manage that relationship. This is similar to the way our kingdom (Leo) creates a lot of work and all those tasks that need to be done (Virgo).
The full moon in Virgo is opposite the Sun in Pisces. Every full Moon has to be understood by contrast to the Sun’s position because it’s half-way point in a cycle. The full moons have been perceiving the new moons because the last new moon was actually Aquarius but it’s still a full moon in Pisces. So, the Sun is in Pisces on this full moon which is very much related to relaxing into a celestial, metaphysical kind of understanding with the cosmos.
