This week’s episode is a very special one… and an emotional one for me. My great friend Joe Pangelinan, a 2-time guest on the podcast (Ep. 219 & Ep. 352), unfortunately passed away last week (April 14th, 2026) after his valiant fight and courageous battle with Stage-IV lung cancer. Therefore, to honor his legacy and life, I am not only resharing one of my favorite conversations with Joe, I share some deep thoughts & lessons in the beginning and end of this episode to make it tremendously personal and special. I’ve known Joe since 1998. He was there...

I had a conversation with Pastor David Jeremiah last week that spurred on this episode of being discouraged or depressed OR encouraged and inspired. “Dr. J” asked if I ever get discouraged or depressed and I thought about it and then answered him. Truth is, even the strongest among us—the leaders, the parents, the entrepreneurs, the coaches—the ones everyone looks at and says, “they’ve got it all together”… they still go through seasons where they feel tired, heavy, or even discouraged. And maybe that’s you right now. You’re showing up....

Who else is ready to win Q2 of 2026 and catapult your results for the rest of the year? If so, today starts with some reflection, addressing your pressing challenges, obstacles, and issues…and of course setting some significant goals for the next 90-days as well. That’s why I kicked this episode off with a challenge—a “WIN 90-Days” Challenge. Listen in and STEP-UP! No fluff…Just truth, clarity, and action. And then… we go deep. I’ve got a very special guest on the show today—someone who I’ve had the privilege of working closely with and watching impact...

This week’s episode is a special one. I recorded it just days before opening and it’s been a ton of work to get to the “start line.” Today, I’m taking you behind the scenes—just days before opening IMPACT-X Performance—to share the truth about what it really takes to build something BIG. The setbacks, the delays, the pressure… but also the faith and the fire that keeps you moving forward when things get hard. Because here’s the truth—we’re never promised smooth sailing, but we are promised purpose. And this episode isn’t just about opening a gym....

I’m just days away from opening IMPACT-X Performance, my new life- transformational center (gym + recovery + coaching) here in San Diego and I couldn’t be more excited. It’s been a long process to get to here but we are almost at the “start line” and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. On this week’s episode, I share several things: Why this gym had to be built. The moment the Vision hit and the question I kept asking myself, “What if there was a place, a franchise, built entirely around helping people unlock their highest performance on ALL...

Are you successful on paper but restless underneath? Have you reached midlife (40, 50, or in your 60’s) and your realized something feels slightly “off.” Not broken. Not dramatic. Just…stuck. What if the restlessness you’re feeling right now isn’t a problem… but a signal that your next chapter is calling? This week’s episode of the IMPACT SHOW Podcast is POWERFUL and DEEP. I sit down with a dear friend of mine, Bobby Kelly. I’ve known Bobby for over 20 years, and let me tell you—this guy is one of the most passionate, authentic, and no-nonsense coaches I...

Stress. We all feel it in some way…big or small. And it’s not that stress is actually bad. It’s that under-recovered stress is potentially deadly. This week on the IMPACT SHOW, we’re talking about something every single one of us deals with — stress. And not just surface-level stress. I’m talking about the kind that builds quietly over time. The kind that high performers carry. The kind that can cost you your health if you’re not careful. My guest today is Derek Clark — performance coach, speaker, and founder of the Stress Recovery Game Plan. Derek’s...
info_outlineThis week is incredibly special. My wife Melanie and I are celebrating 25 years of marriage.
WOW! Twenty-five years since February 17, 2001… and 28 years since I first walked into that
graduate teaching assistant meeting at San Diego State University and saw the most beautiful
blonde woman with the brightest smile in the room. Little did I know…that woman would
become my wife.
In this episode, we take you live to Whitefish, Montana, from our Annual Retreat, where Kelli
Watson interviews Melanie and me on stage about marriage, faith, parenting, business, hard
seasons, deep loss, big dreams, and what it really takes to stay committed for the long haul. I’d
like to share part of that interview with you as we received great feedback on it.
This one is vulnerable. We talk about the wins, some losses, some wounds, and even some of
the arguments. Haha. We talk about relationships, growth, the kids, the calling, and how love
looks different 25 years later. If you’re married, want to be married, leading a family, building a
business, or walking through a tough season—this episode is for you. Check it out…
What You’ll Learn in This Episode:
- How our definition of love evolved from “what can I get?” to “how can I serve?”
- The best marriage advice we ever received.
- How to navigate tough seasons with a short memory and thick skin.
- What raising three athletes taught us about teamwork at home.
- How faith became the foundation that carried us through tragedy.
- Why second chances and redemption stories matter so deeply to us.
- The power of walks, car rides, and intentional conversation in staying connected.
- How to balance personal ambition with shared family goals.
- What it means to “divide and conquer” in certain seasons of life.
- Why your spouse’s spirit matters more over time than physical attraction.
- The conversations that shaped us as young parents—and the ones shaping us now.
- What legacy truly means and how we want to be remembered.
- What do the next 25-years look like?! Haha.
Here are Some of the Interview Questions from Kelli Watson: Todd & Melanie Durkin – 25 Years of Marriage
- Looking back on 25 years together, what’s one thing that has surprised you most
about marriage? - Every couple goes through seasons—busy, calm, and sometimes stormy. What
practices or habits have helped you stay connected through the different seasons
of life? - You’ve both supported each other through major career milestones and raising a
family. How have you balanced personal dreams with shared goals? - What does partnership mean to you now, compared to when you first got married?
- How do you handle disagreements or tough conversations?
- Over the years, what small, consistent actions have had the biggest impact on
keeping your relationship strong? - You’ve both spoken about faith and purpose. How has your faith influenced your
marriage and the way you lead as a couple? - If your younger selves could sit in the audience today, what advice would you give
them about love, communication, and commitment? - How has your definition of love changed from year one to year twenty-five?
- And finally, what’s next for the two of you--as a couple, as parents, and as
partners in life and impact?
We’ve done a lot in 25-years. We walked through tragedy. We’ve built businesses. We’ve raisedthree incredible kids. We’ve sold a company. We’re launching another. We’ve grown in faith. We’ve wrestled through conflict. And we’ve learned that love deepens when you serve, not when you keep score.
I have fallen more in love with Melanie’s spirit today than I did even 25 years ago. Her faith. Her
discipline. Her heart for serving others through the Durkin Impact Foundation. Her mothering our 3-kids. I’m more convinced than ever that when your marriage is rooted in faith, purpose, love, and understanding, and good communication, it can weather anything.
If this episode touched you, challenged you, or encouraged you—please like it, share it, and
follow the show. Send it to someone who needs hope in their marriage or encouragement in
their family. Let’s keep building strong families, strong faith, and strong legacies together.
