Since 2013 is the Year of Community, it is only fitting to begin with an interview about building community. This informative and entertaining interview with Bill Kauth and Zoe Alowan focuses on work they’ve been doing together since 2008 to actively learn and teach the concepts and processes of what they call “Gift Community”. They are committed to bringing into focus a healing understanding of the essential feminine and masculine within the context of community building.

Gift Communities provide supportive containers in which each participant is empowered by the mutual support of others to make their contributions within community and to the world at large.

Bill Kauth is a psychotherapist and business consultant who co-founded the New Warrior Training in 1984. Since then, this empowerment program has served over 50,000 men through the ManKind Project with 43 centers in 8 countries around the world.

Zoe Alowan has been actively engaged in sacred art for many decades. As a painter, sculptor, dancer, and storyteller, her work explores transformation and healing. She has taught at both Esalen and Naropa Institutes.
