September 2020 Spiritual Episode show art September 2020 Spiritual Episode

Use Your Words

There really is no title for today's episode.  Once a month we try to go down the more spiritual route with our conversations and that was this week's conversation.  Originally we were going to talk about a multitude of things, but in the end we got to only one question: how do each of us do devotions, and what methods do we find as effective methods to do those devotions?

Use Your Words

The CDC recently released a report which stated that in June of 2020 25.5% of people aged 18-24 SERIOUSLY considered suicide.  That is an alarming statistic - and shook Paul to his very core.  Since it is suicide awareness month - these two things align (horribly) together - so we talked about it this month. Kenosha Wisconsin: A City In Crises show art Kenosha Wisconsin: A City In Crises

Use Your Words

This week Paul is joined by Aaron as we talk about what is going on in Kenosha, Wisconsin.  Both of us live close to the town, and have been there multiple times ourselves.  We wanted to talk about what we are seeing in Kenosha as people that live close to the community.  We also touch on what we think about people who are encouraging people to jump to judgment without facts, and how the story starts one way and quickly morphs once data starts entering into the conversation.

Only trust the experts? show art Only trust the experts?

Use Your Words

With Covid and other things going on around the world - it has been popping up on Social Media that only those who are experts in their respective field should be giving information on their respective field.  If you are not a verified expert and give an opinion (even if you have done extensive research on it) then per these people your educated opinion should be discounted.  Is this a proper way to live life?  Do you have to be an expert in order to give informed opinions?  Can a layman talk about things?

Use Your Words

This week Paul finally wraps up the past four weeks of Use Your Words with the overarching theme which answers the question about why people want to tear down statues, why people want to create laws which allow discrimination, why people are being Karens online, and why the world is as it is today - and offers up a theory that this may be a new religion which those who shun religion actually are following.

Anytime you try to have a conversation about race in America, one of two things instantly happen. Either people shut down afraid to say the wrong thing and being labeled a racist, or they go off on tangents not related to the topic at hand attempting to skirt around the uncomfortable topic at hand. On this week's episode of Use Your Words, we are attempting to talk about affirmative action in America. This can be an uncomfortable topic at times, but when you look at it objectively we can see that we are trading one form of racism for another in an attempt to be politically correct and rectify the racism of the past.
