With footy on hold we continue the conversations switching this time to the men and women in white, well the men and women in orange or green as they are now. On our show, Steve Arnott & Jeff Persson of the USAFL Umpires Association. Combined, Steve and Jeff have umpired somewhere around 700 USAFL games in the past 21 years.
Steve was awarded USAFL Legend status in 2019 and has been umpiring here in the USA since 1999. Steve arrived here in the early 90s and prior to that took up umpiring in Sydney.
Jeff, a USAFL Life Member since 2012 gives us an in depth view of umpire coaching and accreditation in the USA and how the steps taken in recent years has boosted the strong and continual development of umpires across the USA. Jeff continues to umpire and play when he can with the Nashville Kangaroos.
