Energy Saving Tips for Renters

We are REC – a podcast series produced in partnership with Rappahannock Electric Cooperative. We were in the studio with Casey Hollins, Director of Communications and Public Relations for Rappahannock Electric Cooperative to talk about some energy saving tips for renters. A few of those included:

• Set the thermostat at 68 degrees, lower at night as needed.
• Make it a habit to change the air filters regularly.
• Open the drapes on sunny days to allow the sun to help add warmth to the home.
• Talk to your landlord about sealing any air leaks.
• Replace traditional light bulbs with LED’s. They use far less electricity and last longer over time.
