Wholistic Hearts- A Journey from the Head to the Heart, Encounters with Jesus
Kristin leads you into an encounter that invites you to explore the secret place—the quiet, personal space where you meet with God. It’s not heavily guided. Just enough to create space, ask a question, and let Him speak. You’re encouraged to pause and imagine: What does the secret place look like for you? For some, it looks like a garden. For others, it’s the beach. Or a quiet space tucked inside your heart. There’s no right or wrong. It’s personal. It’s yours. And He’s there. Take a deep breath, lean in, and ask: “God, what does the secret place look like for me?” Let this...

In 1 Samuel 17, David walks toward Goliath—not with heavy armor, but with full confidence in the God beside him. Graham Cooke describes it not just as a battle, but as an encounter—a moment with God filled with presence and promise. You’re invited into that same kind of moment. Join Kristin in today's encounter. Take time today to pause and ask: What are the Goliaths you are fighting? Who is the God behind you, beside you, and with you? What is the weapon...

Kristin is joined by Laura for another deep and powerful conversation about stepping into the new life God has given us. This episode is full of encouragement, validation, and a reminder that it’s okay to leave the past behind in order to seek Him fully. A foundational truth of the kingdom is that we are made new in Christ. Yet so often, we find ourselves trying to fix, repair, or perfect our old selves—as if Jesus came to simply clean up our past rather than give us a completely new identity. But why would He resurrect what He has already made new? The world offers countless ways to let...

In this conversation, Kristin welcomes her good friend, Laura, to explore what it truly means to renew the mind. It’s not about grand, overwhelming changes—it’s about simple, intentional shifts. A small act of obedience. A willingness to listen. So often, negative thoughts hold us back, but renewal starts with awareness. How are we showing up in the world? Are we aligning our thoughts with what God has ordained? When we take the time to shift our mindset, even slightly, we begin to see transformation. Renewing the mind isn’t a solo journey. Growth happens in community. Healing happens...

This chapter calls us to humble ourselves before God, to acknowledge the weight of our hearts and our need for his grace. James 4 reminds us that when we draw near to God, he draws near to us. In this moment, you don’t need to have everything figured out—you simply need to come close. Take a deep breath. Close your eyes. Kristin asks you to pause with James 3, not just to read, but to sit in the weight of its truth. This chapter isn’t just about words—it’s about the heart behind them. What we speak reveals what’s inside us. Our words hold power, shaping the world around us and the lives of those who hear them. James 3 urges us to be aware, to recognize that what flows from our mouths begins in the depths of our hearts. Take a moment. Be still. Ask Jesus to show you what’s within. What is He speaking over you? What does He want you to know about who you are? Write it down. Let His truth become the...
info_outlineWelcome to Wholistic Hearts Podcast
Here on Wholistic Hearts, I think it’s important for me to state the foundation of what I share hear on the podcast. This has been adapted to be personal to me but is the same beliefs as Bethel Church in Redding, CA.
I believe in the Trinity- The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. There is only one true God who is the King of Kings, Creator, and Redeemer of all. He is better than we think. Always in a good mood. He is the pinnacle of 1 Corinthians 13- Love himself. He is and always will be.
I believe that the Bible is God-breathed and the Word of God. I believe it is infallible.
I believe that each person has been created in the image of God to enjoy Him and delight in Him. I believe we have all been given a choice to follow Him.
I believe Jesus was born through the virgin Mary and is the Messiah empowered by the Holy Spirit to inaugurate God’s kingdom here on earth. Jesus died for our sin, was buried and resurrected and ascended into heaven and is now alive today in the presence of God the Father and in His people.
I believe we are saved by God’s grace, through faith in the person of Jesus Christ. Anyone can be restored to fellowship with God through repentance, belief, and receiving Jesus as their Saviour and Lord. The Holy Spirit convicts, regenerates, justifies, and adopts us as we enter the kingdom of God as His sons and daughters. I believe in the ongoing and sanctifying power of Holy Spirit according to Acts 1:4-8 and 2:4; it is poured out on believers that they might have God’s power to be His witnesses.
I believe in the victorious, redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides freedom from the power of the enemy- sin, lies, sickness, and torment.
I believe the church is the Bride of Christ- those who put their trust and faith in Jesus Christ. I believe in the power of communion and baptism. I believe the Body of Jesus is used to advance teh Kingdom by undoing the works of the enemy, using our voices to preach and declare of God’s Good News- His love. I believe in discipling people all over the world to encounter Jesus, Holy Spirit, and the Father.
I believe in the power of our imagination as a place to offer to Holy Spirit to sanctify and create. I believe in the power of the communing with God through Holy Spirit by prayer, meditation, encounters, Scripture, art, music, worship, writing, etc.
I believe Jesus will return as He is our Blessed Hope. He is our Bridegroom. He will visibly return to rule and reign with His overcoming bride- The Church.
I believe heaven and hell are real places. I believe there will be a resurrection of the lost and the saved, the one to everlasting death and the other to everlasting life.
