It's that time of year where we remember the Gunpowder plot and burn an effigy of the fellow who started it all... what a lovely anniversary! Rather gruesome if you think about it. But actually there are fewer and fewer bonfires and 'Penny for the Guy' (Guy Fawkes : the naughty man who started all the treason palaver in the first place). And we are seeing more and more and MORE of the fireworks part of the celebrations here in the UK.
We are of course looking towards New Years Eve as well, Christmas seems to also involve fireworks, as do weddings, and yes, even funerals (going off with a bang, as they say)
But what about our poor old dogs in all of this? They must think they are going insane with all the flashes, bangs and whizzes going on. Not good at all.
Time for us to take things in hand and paw, and let's help our dogs deal with firework fear!
