It’s Olga, with the German name! That’s right, we are here with actress and singer Olga Merediz. You Might Know Her From In the Heights, Encanto, Blockbuster, Eternity, Evita, Music of the Heart, Mr. Popper’s Penguins, Orange is the New Black, and the Original Broadway Company of The Human Comedy. Olga gave us all the good on her Tony-nominated turn in In the Heights and recreating Abuela Claudia 14 years later in Jon M. Chu’s 2021 film adaptation. Plus, we got to hear what it was like to play ONLY the singing voice for a character in Encanto, working on a never-saw-the-light-of-day play with John Cassavetes, and originating the role of “Mexican Woman” in The Human Comedy where she gets one of the best musical sequences in the show: “I Let Him Kiss Me Once.” Oh!
