Be the 3rd: Communicating the Way God Intended
BE THE 3RD: COMMUNICATING THE WAY GOD INTENDED

Then God said, “Let us make humankind in our image.” Have you ever thought about what being made in the Image of God really means? I have, and that one thought led me into a beautiful journey of God’s desire for us. The Image of God is multi layered, but here we focus on the relational. God is a God of relationship. As His most precious creation, God desires nothing more than to be in relationship with us. Our greatest commandment is to love Him, the second greatest commandment is to love others. All humans were made in the image of God we are all called to love Him first, others second. We were literally made for relationship. Yet we fail. Relationships aren’t easy, so we struggle. Here we discover God’s design for relationship. We look deep into the communication process, including divine communication, our relationship with Him, along with interpersonal, our relationship with others, and intrapersonal, how we communicate to self. Once we start to understand these relationship dynamics and our unique communication capabilities, loving God, and loving others, relationship, becomes much easier. When we follow this commandment to put God first, others second, we might wonder where we fit? At Bethe3rd, we talk honestly about how we communicate, and how we should be communicating in our relationships with God, others, and ourselves. Join me, Jackie Melvin, here at Be the 3rd every Thursday where we focus on communicating the way God intended and discovering His design for relationship. The Image of God- Imago Dei! - Friends, we are made in the image of God. Wow!

Our mission is to build a bridge between the LGBTQIA+ community and people of faith. We strive to help people in the gay community reconnect with their faith and to be more tolerant and respectful of those in the faith community. We want to promote tolerance. We don’t have to agree, but can we at least agree not to be disagreeable? In this clash between culture and religion, does either side have to win? Could we call a truce? Each week, host Brian Peyton Joyner connects with people of faith and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Welcome to the Be the Scandal Podcast. I'm your host, Dani Hickman. I’m a spiritual seeker, trauma psychotherapist, coach and Reiki Master. I’m on a mission to help people heal their trauma and liberate their most authentic self—without spending years in therapy. If you want to live a life aligned with your most authentic self, you are in the right place. This podcast is for the person who has spent years being a chameleon. The person that made themselves small as a way to make others feel less distressed. And lost themselves along the way. This podcast is also for the person whose trauma has kept them disconnected from their most authentic self. I see you, I honor you, I’m with you, AND I invite you to reconnect to the power of being unapologetically YOU. The power of exploring and anchoring into your most authentic self. I invite all parts of you into this space because….at the core of this podcast is this ethos: All parts of you are welcome here. And, let’s be honest: those people you’ve been afraid to upset by being the authentic you—they’re probably going to talk about you anyways. You might as well give them something to talk about—something that not only offers you the freedom of your authenticity but also the invitation to anyone in earshot: that they too can liberate their most authentic self. Because this is what I know to be true: When we have the courage to be our true selves, it gives others the permission to do so too. If you’re ready to join the sacred rebellion of being your most authentic self—let’s be the scandal—all together, hand in hand. I’m glad that you’re here—welcome to the journey.
