"The path to getting to where I am today wasn’t easy nor without struggle. 4 years ago, I embarked on my healing journey. I wasn’t happy in my life and I couldn’t shake the uneasy feeling that there was something more out there that I wasn’t pursuing. I followed all the rules; I did what I was told. But I felt lost. I felt alone. I had no confidence, numbed out with substances, and was afraid of EVERYTHING. I knew something had to change so I signed up for a 200 hour yoga teacher training program. During my training, things shifted for me. I became in touch with my body and appreciated it more than I ever had before. And for the first time, I felt a connection to the divine, my soul. I felt a sense of peace and relief from the monotonous pain of life. I wish I could say things were linear after that but years of deep-seeded beliefs about myself were hard to break. It was only in the last 3 years that things really shifted for me. I made taking care of myself my #1 priority. And thus began the period of massive transformation. I tended to my wounds and needs. I let go of unhealthy relationships and patterns. I integrated all of the knowledge, teachings, and trainings I had done along the way. Which leads me to now. 2024. Where my passion to help others transform, heal and blossom the way I did, became my dream career. I’ve never felt more aligned, like I’m EXACTLY where I need to be." - Shannon Tomascak Reminder: Subscribe, Rate & Review this podcast! I tried to lose weight through: south beach counting calories weight watchers weird African diet pills pretending to be French (anyone else remember “French Women Don’t Get Fat”?) Because I was avoiding the inner work to match my weight loss, the weight always came back and sometimes I would gain even more than I had lost. Eventually, I lost the weight through the approach I am now sharing with you: following my hunger cues, paying attention to my thoughts, and following my simple daily process for healthy living. Fast forward a decade and I now have 3 beautiful children. During each pregnancy I gained 40lbs and lost all the weight after each birth. I have never felt stronger and there is no rule that you can’t feel strong in your body and enjoy the way your physically move through life after kids.
