132. A Chocolatey River Of Milk
This one is late due to a combination of business setbacks and a question from Aussie Jerry. Brother woke up to a lot of birds on his lawn, and we all know that can’t be good. He’s annoyed by the collective nouns for birds, and Sister is forced to defend them. Jon’s daughter is all about Twilight, so The Sib’s are getting into the nitty gritty of the vampire life, and Allison teaches Jon about movie vampires. It's almost back to school time in Alaska and it's too early for that crap. WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM TIM ROTH! Fecal matter bacteria is high in the Milk River of in Alberta, and not everyone is taking it seriously. WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM AUSSIE JERRY! He's asking The Sibs to solve the problem of the decline of democracy, so obviously...squabbles ensue. We end off with a Fact Check and a directive to our Alberta correspondent.

131. A Lot Of Us Died
Brother is feeling gentle to start today’s show, and Sister slept in, so we’re off to a slow start. After dropping the needle and hearing from Grandpa Dore, Jon’s current situation makes him nostalgic for times gone by. Once again talking about technologies effect on the world, Allison outlines reasons for hope, and Jon insists all humans are gross and reveals what really drives innovation. Allison gives up. WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM RYAN! He’s also a fan of the podcast Valley Heat, and a listener of Stop Podcasting Yourself - a very long running, hilarious pod hosted by The Sibs friends Dave and Graham. He’s suggesting a bit of a collab - but not in the way you think. WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM MITCH! He’s the host of the So Fly podcast, and he’s calling from The Sib’s hometown to see if they want to go fishing! Jon speaks on the dangers of the life aquatic, and Allison reminisces about one of her favourite scandals. One more needle drop and it’s Sibs OUT!

130. Spider Killer: Qu'est-ce Que C'est
Brother had an upsetting dream, and Sister went back on her word and decimated a spider community. The Sibs are starting this one off with transparency and vulnerablilty! WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM CATHERINE! It is a lovely message, so why was Jon scared when he heard who it was from? The message leads to a squabble, which is not Catherine's fault - she is always trying to help these two, but really, who can? Jon has gotten out their Grandpa's old tapes, and as they listen to old phone calls and do a little research, The Sibs bicker because they can't not, and it's genetic. Mysteries abound from these tapes, but will they get solved this episode???

129. Brother's Walk To Freedom
Brother went camping and we get the answer to last week's cliffhanger: did he take a plane to the woods? And more importantly: 4 people went into the woods, but how many came out??? Sister is baffled at all the people that want to go to harsh environments and either hang out, or worse, do endurance exercises. Allison is fixed on a fact she learned, and even though Jon is bored he indulges her, then it time for a FACT CHECK! Jon brings up War of the Worlds, leading to an all out squabble about Tom Cruise. WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM AUSSIE JERRY! He's answering the questions Jon asked last week, allegedly to prove that guests on our show don't work, but unfortunately he wrote a very entertaining letter and now The Sibs are hooked. WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM NURI! The last episode got her thinking about death, and although she came up with the pettiest idea for using her cremains to get vengeance on her enemies, she's probably going to opt for a more eco-friendly disposal. Go to to leave us a message!

128. Sister Says Something Sensible
Brother is home in Alaska and Sister is in Edmonton at The Grindstone Comedy Festival, so their geolocations are closer than usual! Allison shares some great moments of the festival, and Jon shares his concerns about his upcoming camping trip…which starts at the end of the episode. Jon’s daughter asked him what he wants to happen to his body when he dies, leading The Sibs to discuss it - and he doesn’t care for Allison’s suggestion so he makes a worse one for her. WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM LISA! She was chillin’ at the cottage when Jon raged against her “homewrecking” on the last episode, so she’s checking in and looking for recipes. WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM DR. STAN! Our most learned listener is at a conference on the Amalfi Coast, and went to a concert in a beautiful setting, so he wants to know The Sibs favourite venue. WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM ANDREA! Father David Dore’s case of AI trickery has a resolution! *FACTCHECK* Is Betty Boop relevant or not??? WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM AUSSIE JERRY! A friend of his says that he contributes so much, he now counts as a guest on the show. Brother and Sister share the same opinion, then disagree, then sort of agree again. Jon wants to hit the rails, Allison thinks it won’t go the way he thinks. He suggests a terrible idea, and Allison wants everyone to know he is incorrect. One of their favourite actors goes on one of their absolutely not favourite podcasts, and disappointingly shills for AI.

126. Foods To Eat While Crying
We had to begin with the sad news that Chili David Dorgi, Sister’s beloved dog, crossed the rainbow bridge. If you want to avoid the sad stuff, skip ahead to about 8:30, where Brother starts addressing the real topics: what foods are best to eat while sobbing? Which foods should be avoided depending on what emotions you are feeling? Is angry eating funny or scary? Allison shouts out one of her favourite podcasts, Valley Heat, but talks too long about it and Jon gets annoyed; The Sibs discuss her future, derailing only slightly to ask why HOAs? They seem bad. You know what’s always bad? THIRD PARTIES. Whether it’s in a night or an affiliate situation, DON’T DO IT. Father David Dore got fooled by nefarious AI, and The Sibs are on the case! They will stop at nothing to get justice for him; including trying to get a bot to admit it’s a bot, but first they have to revisit Jon’s classic poem “I wish I were a meadow”. Jon gets so worked up talking about third parties, he lashes out at a listener! Someone taking friendly fire for just sitting at home listening! The ADHD is strong in this episode as they get derailed again, this time talking about the issues with having the nasal cavity connected to the throat. Getting back to the story, Jon tries to improv a phone call to demonstrate the issue, but as always Allison can’t improv right. They get the end of part one of the story - but vow to avenge their father no matter what it takes.

A side note about pirate based TV shows has The Sibs off and running about streaming, AI and 1984. Jon has gotten so paranoid that he starts accusing one of the listeners of being a bot; so Allison decides it time to reveal a new segment: FACT CHECK! WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM ANDREA! She has some title suggestions for Allison’s interview podcast, some food for thought for Jon, and a musical question. WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM EMILI! Do we kill spiders or not? That is the question Brother is asking today, and won’t accept that Sister feels it’s not a yes or no question. So they decide on the definitive answer. Allison needs the listeners help, and when Jon tries to weigh in, it becomes obvious why she’s outsourcing. The family experienced a loss, and The Sibs pay tribute to their uncle Doug. Jon tells story about a book he received from Doug that was very formative in his young adulthood, and then refuses to name the book. Allison is baffled. Allison tries to tell Jon about a great experience she had during the week, but it’s difficult to speak to him sometimes. So instead they have a vigorous conversation about root vegetables and the history of mustard. Turns out Jon has an uncomforatbly close relationship with the Emperor from Star Wars, so Allison changes the subject by recommending a helpful book, since he won't share his.

Brother and Sister are talking sports, and you know what that means… SQUABBLES! Not even 5 minutes in, Jon is accusing Allison of bigotry and she must give a heartfelt apology. Allison brings up the previous week’s mention of the WNBA, but before she gets to her point Jon needs to gaslight her about her memory. Then a rousing discussion one sibling thinks is about gender differences in sports and the other thinks is about how it’s been communicated. Has this happened before? Of course! It’s a classic! Jon tries to change the topic but no. **NOTE: The documentary Allison was talking about is called The Equalizer (2016), where current elite athletes are challenging records of the past - using equipment from the past. It focuses on sports from the summer olympics. There is a companion documentary called Champions vs. Legends (2018) that focuses on winter sports.** Halls of Fame…do we need ‘em? Are stats fair? More importantly is that candy store still next to Cooperstown? The Sibs agree on the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, but then Allison mixed up The Big Bopper and Buddy Holly and they just can’t recover. A quick emotional inventory, a family story, and they’re out!

The Sibs had previously pondered where he was from, so he answers and then asks for their go to coffee order. Which causes an incident. WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM ANDREA! Jon has been doing a lot of driving and the soundtrack is very important; so they also discuss art in a meaningful way, saying things like “good to somebody could be bad to someone else”. Jon is in Halifax, Allison is in Ottawa and they have both had run ins with listeners in the last week! Allison is pretty sure she’s been flagged by some intelligence agencies, which leads to a discussion on how much harder it was to be radicalized in the 90’s. Then they reminisce about Rock Junction, a former head shop in Ottawa. The Sibs played a little prank on their mom; then they do some emotional inventory. Between a cape and a peninsula? Jon is considering a career change, and is upset that Allison laughs at his idea. WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM AUSSIE JERRY! A particularly well timed question after last week’s squabble. The Sibs run through some scenarios that could sever their bond forever. Jon accuses Allison of using derogatory language, and they both learn some interesting things about words. WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM TAYLOR! Jon talks about indoctrination in our everyday lives, and how they are both too dumb to talk about these things. A brief foray back into James Bond- Allison watched No Time To Die, and while she didn’t like the movie, she did like the fact that James Bond dies. The top 5 has again had a major upset, and even thought Jon absolutely doesn’t care, he has to hear about it anyway. SACHA LEFT US A MESSAGE! He has taken Jon’s notes to heart, but has one more question for Jon. LISA LEFT US A MESSAGE! She doesn’t remember talking to Todd’s girlfriend on a bus, but feels she needs to give context. She also wants to know if The Sibs have had an experience that left a mark on them but the other person completely forgets? ANONYMOUS LEFT US A MESSAGE! We are literally starting this one with a squabble! Brother is “multitasking” by eating with recording, and is annoyed that his fork scraping his plate into the microphone is upsetting to Sister. Allison just returned from Mexico so obviously the first question is: did she have diarrhea? (See previous trip for details!) It wasn’t a great trip, but Jon is relieved she didn’t get kidnapped by the cartel because he doesn’t want to decide how much she is worth. Jon is forced to once again stand up for the beautiful, poetic hearts of drunk young men as Allison makes sweeping generalizations. Allison learned some stuff about brains in a book she’s reading, and this leads to a squabble. *Note: the name of the book by Jon Krakauer, about Pat Tillman, they were trying to remember is Where Men Win Glory. WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM LISA! She is shocked listening to the episode where we talked about the space race to realize The Sibs have obviously never seen For All Mankind. Ugh James Bond comes up AGAIN, what is wrong with these two??? WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM AUSSIE JERRY! Brother once again decided to get a haircut while he was on the road…and as always it didn’t go great. This sets off talking about the greatest hairdresser of all time, Rosa, who Sister also goes to because when she moved to Toronto Jon insisted on it. Jon gets his hair cut by a young mortician, who maybe needs some more experience dealing with people who are alive. Allison reminds Jon this is the second time he’s decided to get an impromptu haircut on the road that didn’t go well. Allison admits where she is the worst; but then reveals she watched One Battle After Another since the last episode so they could discuss it. Jon cracks his breakfast beer; he’s out of the number one choice (Hazy Little Thing IPA by Sierra Nevada) so it’s an Icy Bay IPA. *Legal Reminder* None of these breweries know we exist, and are in no way affiliated with us, no matter what Jon says. Jon has a big event coming up, hence the haircut, and he has purchased a new suit. His partner Christina has been named one of AWARE’s Women of Distinction in 2026 for her advocacy work, in particular her work surrounding domestic violence, and since Jon nominated her…he has to introduce her! ANNOUNCEMENTS *Allison is once again the Ambassador for Red Door Family Shelter () for Coldest Night Of The Year () on February 28th; and is fundraising for this incredible organization. *Jon is going on tour in Western Canada, and you can find tour dates and tickets at He will also be in Cincinnati! *Leave us a message (written or verbal) at We get a brief update on Licegate 2.0 and Jon’s research, then Jon reveals what his surefire platform would be if he ran for Prime Minister. WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM SOMEONE TRYING TO SELL US SOMETHING! Allison reads another sales pitch email that she feels is unhinged. Jon immediately halts proceedings and calls for a meeting. Meeting notes: *discussing episode content before recording *changing Jon’s middle name to Dwindle *using current events to get into personal stories *Deepak Chopra is in the Epstein files The meeting never comes to an official close, as The Sibs get sidetracked by whether or not Jon should let his kid watch violent sports. A very intellectual discussion follows about CTE and how to make sports safer, when disaster strikes- Sister shoots Brother. (FYI - the NFL Player/Mathematician who’s name Allison Couldn’t remember is John Urschel) A technical difficulty alleviates some pressure in a major squabble, but they get right back into arguing about whether or nor shot-putters think putting shots is fun.

106. I Think There Has To Be Juice Involved
We open with an official announcement about Sister’s name, and then Brother begins updating the world on Licegate 2.0 when Patient Zero enters the room. The Sibs put on their Scientist hats and theorize wildly about how lice operate and if they are getting worse. Squabble #1 comes when Jon doesn’t feel Allison is listening. Jon then claims he is going to do extensive research and present his findings in the coming weeks; and reveals the shocking side effect he is experiencing as a result of dealing with an infestation. Jon’s struggles remind Allison of a story she heard recently about an outbreak of Super Chlamydia among billionaires, which sets off another round of Idiots Trying To Be Scientists. Jon is trying to break stigmas and chastises Allison for what he perceives as upholding them. And of course you can’t talk about Chlamydia without talking about koalas. ***LEGAL DISCLAIMER*** Nothing these dummies say should be construed as medial advice or scientific certainty. Allison shared a story about recently controlling her inner Hulk, and 2 stories where she didn’t. Jon uses an inspirational quote to help strangers believe in themselves.

105. Being A Warrior Wart
A text from cousin Scott leads Sister to question Brother’s string knowledge but also spurs her to update the intro for this week. Plus it leads to our first squabble of the day! ANDREA LEFT US A MESSAGE! Well, technically 2 messages, one to give some context. While Jon and Allison discuss where the world is at and why context matters, they get side tracked talking about Noah’s Ark. Andrea shares a personal story that she thinks may resonate with Allison, and oh boy does it! A sincere chat follows, then we get into Andrea’s question for The Sibs: escape plans! What do people need to know about Canada and where should they go? Allison talks about Tod Maffin who is helping healthcare professionals relocate to Canada. In a surprising turn, it’s not talking politics that causes a squabble, but inaccuracies about the floor plan of the house they grew up in. The Sibs discover they had been paying attention to different sides of the same comedian, so his current stance is less surprising to one of them. TIM ROTH LEFT US A MESSAGE! He’s gotten a little in his head since his Brother/Sister anthem played, but he also has a question about concerts. One final squabble about how to define the roles of Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor in the band Blue Rodeo, and it’s Sibs out!

104. Giving Up is Part of Growing Up
Brother Sister Alert! The squabbling starts right away as The Sibs debate what counts as foley (making sounds for film), when Brother critiques Sister’s sound effects, which is were inspired by Brett Gelman. Jon is in Leftbridge, Alberta telling jokes, and almost made a new friend - but he doesn’t need more friends because he has children. Allison tries to see how much of the Lord’s prayer she knows, and The Sibs talk about famous prayers and the Law of the Wolf Pack. Nothing like 2 secular idiots talking about religion! Jon has a big errand to do and is wondering how he can pawn it off on someone else. Allison used to play the double bass, but it’s big and dumb and The Sibs talk about which instruments are good, and which are bad. TIM ROTH SENT US A SONG! Last week was a cliffhanger, as Tim Roth promised a song but couldn’t send it. But we have it now and it is a BEAUTY! The Sibs give listeners a taste, and have a quick squabble about Tim’s music influences. Brother tells a story from the previous night that he can sort of remember, Sister checks where Michael Winslow is now, and they wrap up the show and play Tim’s whole song.

103. Lollapaburpa
We’re kicking it off with a squabble! Brother attempts to educate on the number 102, and Sister immediately questions him. ***NOTE: Neither sibling realizes during recording that this is actually episode 103.*** Allison and their parents went to a family party, but we don’t really have time to get into it because this is a real correspondence episode! KRIS WROTE US A MESSAGE! Allison is pretty sure she used to work with Kris and after a quick scientific argument, The Sibs get into Kris’ imaginary brother and her question: if the US and Canada go to war will it be Brother vs Sister???? PAUL WROTE US A MESSAGE! He’s updating us on his situation with his sister, after soft tortillas caused a rift that has potentially led to reconciliation! TIM ROTH LEFT US A MESSAGE! He claims he has a song to sing for us, but does he?!?! There’s a second anonymous message, will it be our tune? Brother goes on a tangent about #barfart and Sister gets annoyed. They eventually go back to messages. NATALIE WROTE US A MESSAGE! She challenges The Sibs to imagine a world where they are tasked with producing an international belching competition, and imagine they do. Welcome to Lollapaburpza! TIM ROTH LEFT US ANOTHER MESSAGE! Is it a song or do we end on a cliffhanger?
