In the days following the completion of the Temple, the people of Israel began to look forward to a new era—a time to return fully to God's ways. But they needed guidance, someone who could teach them to live according to God’s law. Far away in Babylon, God was preparing such a man: Ezra, a priest and a scholar devoted to studying the Law of Moses. Ezra’s heart was filled with a desire to lead the people back to God. And so, under God’s hand, a new journey began—one that would bring Ezra and a group of Israelites back to Jerusalem, to restore not only the Temple but also the people’s faith.
