To welcome Q2 2025 in this hellscape and a new world order, I opened the time capsule and bring you this conversation with my friend Philbert from 2022. When I started this little project of mine, I knew I wanted to talk to someone extensively about growing up in Hong Kong and moving to Canada as a young adult, and Philbert was the perfect guest to dig deep into these feelings with. In a special three-part series to commemorate my 30th birthday, I asked 3 friends to share their experiences of being in their 30s. In the last episode of the mini-series, I talked to friend, mentor, filmmaker and festival programmer Aram Collier about his 30s from the perspective of a 40-something and a parent. The topic of potential parenthood and relationships with our parents came up in the first two episodes so I was really excited to hear what Aram had to say and the advice he gave.
