#88 - The Persecution of the Alawites in Syria
Pietro is joined by Lili, a Lebanese-Syrian born woman who lives in Australia, and tells the heartbreaking story of the persecution of the Alawite community in Syria. Lili starts by giving a detailed rundown of the Syrian conflict, fomented by US funding of terrorist groups, and intensified when, under Obama, the US (and Australia) involved themselves militarily to enact regime change. Lili details her experience, and that of her family, as well as the broader Alawite community whose suffering is largely ignored by media and humanitarian groups in service of the US’s dogged support for Israel. For her safety, Lili has chosen to keep her identity anonymous. *Statistics corrections 17:51 min - Alawites make up roughly 10% of the Syrian community, not 2% as stated. 16:54 min - An estimated 250 000 Alawite men died in the front lines of the Syrian war, as opposed to 750 000 as stated Collectivitis is on Spotify: Instagram: Twitter (X): Youtube:

#87 - Trump and Elon's Messy Break-Up
Pietro and Floyd look at the messy breakup between Elon Musk and Donald Trump over Trump’s new Big Beautiful spending Bill. They discuss how it came to pass, how Elon Musk’s fiscally conservative idealism led him to naively believe that Trump was genuine about cutting spending, how Trump’s ego won’t allow him to let someone criticise him (regardless of how instrumental they were to his election in 2024) and much more. They also discuss the impact of Twitter (or X), the effect on Tesla, the impact of Rand Paul, Thomas Massie, and other good congressmen, how the Democratic party is reacting to this spat, the future of the Republican party, and how JD Vance may well be affected by all this. #86 - No, We Shouldn't "Unite" the Minor Right
Pietro and Floyd reflect on the 2025 Federal Election, and on recent calls from groups such as Reignite Democracy to “Unite” freedom friendly minor parties into one group to achieve electoral success. They also take a look at what differentiates Libertarians from these other parties, as well as give some insight into what the goals and future of the Libertarian Party might be. Finally, they look at the collapse in Greens House of Representatives Seats and why this might have occurred. Collectivitis is on Spotify: Instagram: Twitter (X): Youtube:

With the Federal Election almost upon us, Ryan looks at all the opinions that the establishment doesn’t want you to hold—things like opposition to the cult of Climate Change, the need for Women’s Only spaces, removing privileged groups and government mandated “welcome to countries”. #84 - John Humphreys - The Major Parties are Awful on Economics
Pietro is joined by John Humphreys, economist with the Australian Taxpayers Alliance, and founder of the Libertarian Party of Australia. John sheds some light on the economic state of the country, how stagnation and inflation driving the so-called “cost-of-living” crisis, and how productivity is our only way out of this mess. He also elaborates on how Liberal and Labor are not only blind to this need for productivity, but in many ways actively impeding our only exit-route from economic catastrophe. With the Federal election around the corner, John looks at the major party tax policies, and what they could be doing if they had Australians’ best interests at heart rather than their own: what tax reform could be adopted, what programs need to be cut. #83 - Josh Utoyo - Guerrilla Warfare at the Federal Election
Pietro is joined by Josh Utoyo, Libertarian Party candidate for Menzies. Josh is young, hungry and provocative, and the two discuss some of the out-of-the-box, guerrilla-style strategies that Josh is employing to gain some cut-through to voters. Josh discusses the lay of the land of his seat, how the election is shaping up, as well as some of his experiences in dealing with the more unsavoury characters that are attracted to politics. Josh is also preparing for what he predicts will be a bloodbath event, where he is speaking at a Climate 200 candidate forum, and is the only candidate in attendance who is not a member of the cult of climate change. #82 - Dutton Loses the Election
Pietro and Floyd look at the 2025 Australian Federal election as it heats up. They take aim at Peter Dutton, particularly for his weak stances on populist right wing issues which he had originally campaigned on: cutting 41 000 public sector jobs, ending work-from-home arrangements for public sector employees, and various others. They look at predictions for the outcomes of the election, and take a look at other groups, such as Anthony Albanese, the Labor party, the Greens, the Socialists. They also discuss the issues which aren’t being discussed by the majors: namely ending funding for Israel, Ukraine, the NDIS, climate alarmism, and any other number of useless government programs which seem altogether untouchable. #81 - Clive Palmer is Bad for Freedom
Pietro and Floyd look at Clive Palmer’s new endeavour, the Trumpet of Patriots, and how it is actually a net negative for freedom, despite all of Clive’s Trump-imitating rhetoric. They discuss what this means for the upcoming Federal election, and how it could impact the far better choices, such as the Libertarian Party. They also discuss Trump’s recent tariffs against the world, and Australia specifically. They look at Albanese’s response, as well as those of Dutton and Shorten. Most importantly they discuss what tariffs really are, and how they are another form of taxation of regular people in disguise. #80 - Joe McCracken - Inside the Liberal Party Leadership Spill
Pietro is joined for the first episode of 2025 by Joe McCracken, Liberal Party of Victoria Member of the Legislative Council, and centrally privy to all the latest drama of the Victorian Liberal leadership spill where Brad Battin has replaced John Pesutto. Joe goes into many of the details of how the spill eventuated, spurred on by Moira Deeming’s defamation case win over the former opposition leader in early December, and the subsequent battles over whether to reinstate her within the party room (for which Joe voted in favour twice). They also talk Commonwealth Games debacle, the disasters left behind by Dan Andrews which Jacinta Allen is trying contend with, the 2026 election and what it may hold, and much more. They also look into how the Liberal party has and hasn’t aligned with it’s purported free market and free individual values, and where they rank on the strict report card of ardent libertarians. #79 - Vic Libs in Turmoil as Pesutto Fails Again
Pietro and Floyd take a look at recent events here in Victoria, namely the outcome of the Moira Deeming defamation case against John Pesutto. Yesterday it was ruled that Pesutto did indeed defame Moira by implying she was a nazi-sympathiser while she was part of the ‘Let Women Speak’ Rally in 2023 and the protest was gatecrashed by neo-nazis. There is increased intrigue around this case because Moira had been framed not only as a nazi, but the entire protest was deemed (no pun intended) to be ‘anti-trans’ and ‘transphobic’, a severe crime in the eyes of the ever-increasingly woke-left. The two look at what this means for the Liberal Party in Victoria, what this means for Australian politics more broadly, and dive into whether ‘woke-politics’ is no longer as powerful as it was over the last few years. #78 - 'MAD' Bill Fails in Federal Senate
Pietro and Floyd look at the recent movements in Australian Parliament—namely the MAD (Misinformation and Disinformation) Bill failing this past week after independent Senators Lambie, Pocock, and Payman all announced they would vote against it. The Libertarian Party was instrumental in mobilising community members contacting the Senators’ offices and pleading with them to vote against it. Unfortunately, while this encroachment on free speech seems to be momentarily forestalled, the Social Media Ban for all kids under 16 will pass next week with bipartisan Labor and Liberal support, and Albanese and Dutton arguing over who supports it more. Pietro and Floyd also take a look at the recent ‘haka’ demonstration in Parliament by the Te Maori party in response to David Seymour from the Libertarian party (ACT) over there attempting to remove some of the enshrined privileges the indigenous have been enjoying there at the expense of the taxpayer. #76 - Kamala, You're Fired
Unburdened by what has been (and what could have been), Pietro, Max, and Floyd look at the re-election of Donald Trump as the President of the USA. They do some result analysis of the swing states such as Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Georgia. They also look at the mistakes of the Kamala Harris campaign (such as choosing to tour with Liz Cheney), and they talk about some of Trump’s promises and the likelihood of him keeping them. The more important libertarian-esque promises include freeing Ross Ulbricht, appointing Elon Musk (and Ron Paul) to shrinking government size, ending the Ukraine-Russia war, and appointing RFK Junior as the head of the FDA. They also take a look at Libertarian Party candidate Chase Oliver and analyse what could be the reasons behind his poor result compared to previous Libertarians running for President. #75 - Libertarians Hit Dan Andrews with 'Bike Boy' Recording
Pietro and Max catch up on a slew of recent news. First, Libertarian MP David Limbrick this week dropped the monumental bombshell that there was a recording of 000 call made by Dan Andrews in 2013 following the ‘bike boy’ incident, where he and his wife hit and hospitalised a 15-year-old cyclist. The recording reveals Andrews admitting ‘we hit him’, after police investigations had squashed the story for years. In US politics, it appears the Trump campaign has another drawcard for libertarian voters, as Elon Musk has a public exchange with libertarian icon Ron Paul on X inviting him to be a part of the new ‘Department of Government Efficiency’ (DOGE) which Trump plans on making Musk the head of. Finally, the two look at the recent betting odds for who will win the US Presidency, Donald Trump or Kamala Harris, set to be uncovered on Wednesday. Pietro is joined by John Ruddick—NSW Member of the Legislative Council for the Libertarian Party. John is an avid follower of US politics, and has recently endorsed Donald Trump in NSW Parliament, and aims to break down why Australians should care about the result of the upcoming US election. John and Pietro discuss all things US politics, including: the Russia-Ukraine War, the imminent threat of nuclear war, inflation, the trillions of dollars of national debt, the immigration crisis, the lawfare, the Russiagate hoax, the Hunter Biden laptop story suppression, and much more. John gives his opinion on what the US will face should Trump or Kamala Harris win, as well as possible scenarios that could play out depending on who wins and by what margin. Pietro is joined by Libertarian Party Senate Candidate for Victoria, Jordan Dittloff. A long-time friend of the show, Jordan gives a rundown of the latest news with the MAD (Misinformation and Disinformation) Bill, and all the horrible new ways the government are looking to censor free speech and free expression of ideas. The Bill will soon be voted on, and it’s down to the Liberals potentially teaming up with the Greens and some independents to block this horrible piece of legislation that Labor is proposing once more. They also look at RFK and Tulsi Gabbard’s endorsement of Donald Trump, and how Trump’s campaign has changed since the assassination attempt. They look at how RFK could improve Trump’s policy on issues such as the CIA and FBI, as well as the Russia Ukraine war. #70 - Paul Barker - Councils need to go Back to Basics
Pietro is joined by Libertarian Councillor for the Surf Coast Shire, Paul Barker. Paul talks about the upcoming Council elections, and how the various Councils around Victoria have become bloated in their perverse desire to advocate for issues which extend far beyond the purview of Councils. These include taking stances on foreign wars, advocating for removal of women-only spaces, and a whole multitude of other aspects of the increasingly vocal woke agenda. Paul advocates for a return to normality, with his ‘Back to Basics’ group of Council candidates who aim to limit the scope of Council issues to roads, rates, and rubbish. Pietro and Paul also then broaden to talk about other important libertarian issues, not least of which is a message of hope to bring more people into the movement. They look at how the UK riots compare with the Black Lives Matter riots of 2020, and the differences in how they’re portrayed by the media. They also take a look at the new establishment darling, Kamala Harris, and the incredible concerted effort by all the power structures to propagandise people into thinking she’s some kind of incredible candidate. David talks about the recent allegations of corruption and organised crime within the CFMEU, how deep it runs, who is involved, and how to stop it. They discuss David’s 5-point-plan to clean up Victoria, which includes ending prohibition on nicotine and vaping, tobacco excise tax, legalising cannabis, as well as ending workforce DEI and accelerating pharmaceutical rollout. They explore the ever-narrowing differences between the dystopias we read (and in John's case write) about, and the reality of the actual world. John also discusses his thoughts on the perversion of the law, and how governments exploit civilians' desire for safety and altruism to expand their own remits. They talk about taxes, and public sector expansion, the NDIS, foreign wars (Ukraine-Russia, Israel-Palestine). They look at some possible libertarian solutions to the woes of the world, including micro-nations, secession movements, political solutions, and much more. Pietro and Floyd look at the recent goings on in Australia and abroad in a huge news week. In good news for libertarians (for once), Julian Assange was finally freed and returned to Australia after pleading guilty to a felony charge for publishing US military secrets. Chief among these is Dutton’s recent pledging of support for Nuclear Power, and promising Nuclear Plants in Australia should he become Prime Minister. This has naturally drawn criticism for Labor and the Greens, with even Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan embarrassing herself by chiming in. They discuss the vindication of libertarians and government sceptics all around the world, which was highlighted in this debate—including topics such as Joe Rogan’s ivermectin, vaccine mandates, lockdowns and more. Then they look at the recent outcome of Trump’s trial in New York and what the guilty verdict means for the upcoming US election. The trial centred around a hush-money payment to pornstar Stormy Daniels and Trump is now being heralded by media as a “Convicted Felon”. They talk about the controversy surrounding the news, as well as how it helps Libertarians impose themselves on the national discussion. They also talk about Dave Smith, and how he may be regretting not putting his hand up to run as the Libertarian Presidential candidate. They then talk about the recent decision to suspend all use of the AstraZeneca COVID vaccine amid admissions that it caused "rare but significant injuries".
