Things like Andor and the straight action movie JJ Abrams Trek come to mind. I’m curious what you all think about this." Core Questions: "Can something be called Star Trek, but be so far from the tonal or genre core that it no longer feels like trek?" "Are these places more like playgrounds that, once built, are free to explore and tell any story in, regardless of if it feels close to the ‘source’?" "Does a show like Andor benefit at all from being in the Star Wars universe, instead of all those people involved just making a new science fiction rebellion show which is not connected to any preexisting thing?" "Are storytellers just ‘skinning’ things in existing ip when they could have maybe tried to stand on their own?"
