10 - Supporting Ukraine Through Hardship: Alexey's Journey
In this episode of the Neir's Tavern Community Leaders Show, we talk with Alexey Orishchenko, Director of Global Spirits, a major international alcohol company. Alexey faced a tough situation when the Ukrainian-Russian war broke out. His company suffered heavy losses, and his family in Ukraine when the conflict started. The war damaged their main vodka factory, costing millions and halting production. Despite this, the workers turned part of the factory into a shelter for locals. Alex’s company donated one dollar from each bottle sold to support Ukraine, even though it meant stopping sales in Russia. This decision significantly impacted their profits. He truly appreciates the support the United States provided through the U4U program and community efforts like Neir's Tavern's fundraising and donations. Alex's story shows the importance of community support during tough times. It's a reminder of the power of unity and compassion. Tune in to hear this inspiring tale of resilience and generosity.
