Practical Sustainability is a podcast that helps bring sustainability to our everyday lives. We will discuss the practicality of sustainability, why it is important, and how it could be applied to our everyday lives. We will discuss practical examples and the pros and Cons. The host, Dan Broersma, is passionate about sustainability but just as passionate about listening and sharing simple practices and philosophy around sustainability that everyone can understand. Dan leads the development and execution of community-focused environmental sustainability initiatives. He helps individuals, organizations, and communities identify and develop sustainable opportunities and policies to benefit and serve the residents of Holland, MI. Dan has over 25 years of experience in sustainability, working at Herman Miller(now Miller Knoll), Goodwill Industries of West Michigan, and is now the first Sustainability Manager for the City of Holland MI. His passion for sustainability extends into his personal life. As a volunteer, he has led community projects and communication by helping local schools, organizations, residential homes, and businesses become sustainable by setting up processes, sharing knowledge, and implementing best practices. Dan lives in Holland, Michigan, with his wife and two children. He is passionate about faith, community, and sustainability. He firmly believes that all three are interconnected and has a passion for bringing them all together.
