Knowing Your What.
My name is David Gyawu. I'm a Pastor, a Person of Faith, an Author, A Husband, a Father to my wonderful biological and spiritual children and a friend. In Episode 2, I talked about Your Why. Why is a question you ask when you want to get the understanding to a statement made or to a question. Asking “Why” gives you a better understanding of who you are and how things work and operate. In Episode 3, I talked about your Who It is important to know and understand who you are as a person and in Christ. Who you are is not about your degrees, accolades, status or achievements. Many people have continued to look down on themselves, have considered themselves to be unworthy, do not amount to anything which makes them think they do not have anything good to offer in life and to their generation. There is something special and unique about you and that is how you identify your Who. Please checkout Episodes 2 and 3 on my YouTube page. In this Episode 4, I will be dealing with Your What Once you have identified your Why and your Who, you can navigate your way through identifying your What. Your What is what on earth have you been tasked and assigned to do. Everyone has a God giving assignment and task designed for only you to accomplish. You can always Step Out and Step In to your What, when you have identified your “Why” and “Who”. Throughout the Bible, there were many people who knew what their assignment was. Your What is sometimes designed in a manner of going through a process of challenges, defeats and failures, but God will use all that to prepare you for whatever your assignment is. When you know your What, you do not lose your focus and you do not give up no matter what. Joseph’s What was to become the Prime Minister of Egypt. He knew his What when he dreamt. His brothers hated him after he told his dream to them. They stripped him of his coat of many colors his father gave him but could not strip him of his What. He was put in a dry pit, a place of loneliness, was sold to the Ishmaelites, then sold to Potiphar, whose wife falsely accuse him of attempted rape which ended him in the king’s prison. Because he knew his what, he continued to serve his purpose until he was removed from prison to occupy the position of the Prime Minister. God knew there was going to be seven years of farming, so He prepared Joseph to occupy that position in Egypt to save the Egyptians and his family. Moses’ What was to deliver the children of Israel out of Egyptian captivity and bondage. Moses being a Jew grew up in Pharos’s palace at a time when all Jewish babies under two years were ordered to be killed. He refused to be called an Egyptian when he grew up, committed murder in an attempt to help a Jew who was being maltreated by an Egyptian soldier. He became a fugitive, but God brought him back to Egypt to deliver the Israelites from slavery and bondage to the wilderness enroute to the Promise Land. David’s What was to be the next king of Israel. His seven brothers hated him because he was born out of wedlock. He was a shepherd to his father’s sheep at the backside of the wilderness. He almost missed his own prophetic conference organized in his father’s house to be anointed as the next king of Israel. Because his brothers hated him, they sent him to the part of the wilderness where he could have been killed by a lion or bear. He rather killed a lion and a bear which prepared him to have confidence and trust in God to face and kill a national challenge called Goliath. Jesus’ What was to offer Himself as a sacrifice for you and I to reconcile us back to God. The first Adam relegated the power God invested in man to satan out of disobedience and sin. The second Adam, Jesus Christ reinstated that power back to man because of His obedience to God. Luke 10:19 (NKJV) Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. You realize that, in the scripture I just read, Jesus said “I give you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy. Jesus never said the “powers but power”. The only power the devil stole from man has been handed over back to man with authority. Jesus stayed focused because He knew His What. Because Jesus knew and understood His What, you can also understand your What through Christ Jesus. Do you know your What? Take a moment to identify your What. You were created as a unique, wonderful, peculiar and an amazing individual with so much potential, gifts, talents and abilities that your What will allow you to give to the world and your generation what God packaged you with.
