TSFFS S3 EP7
TSFFS S3 EP7 In this week's episode, we round up all the results from the NWCFL, the Edward Case Cup, and the FA Cup before turning our attention to the National League North and the Northern Premier League. In Controversial Corner, we examine the Burscough replay at Droylsden, which was played behind closed doors. Kidsgrove Athletic were expelled from the competition due to an administrative error, and they acknowledged it as soon as they noticed. AFC Fylde made an offer for Archie Lang, which Bamber Bridge rejected. We ask the question: Is Archie happy with the decision, and are the club holding him back from playing full-time football? Bizarrely, after all the speculation, a transfer embargo has been slapped on AFC Fylde! We take a look at the home of Nelson, Little Wembley, as they start their FA Cup campaign with a victory. The Liverpool Premier League is now in full flow. We discuss Skelmersdale United and their first two defeats, as well as The Grenadier, who went unbeaten all last season and then lost their opening game against Granby Toxteth Athletic. We finish the show with our usual preview of upcoming fixtures, providing predictions and expert analysis. All that and more.

TSFFS S3 EP6, with special guest, David Platt
TSFFS S3 EP6 We start the show by reviewing the winners and losers from the opening day in the NWCFL. There have been a few shocks as well. We discuss local non-league football at step four and above, including some clubs that have transferred to the Midland League Premier. In Controversial Corner, we look at Ashington AFC, recently featured in a documentary, ‘Saving Our Club’, which was part of the BBC's 'Our Lives' series - celebrating life in the UK in all its diversity through the eyes of remarkable people doing extraordinary things. It centres around a close-knit group of volunteers fighting to keep the club afloat amid threats of relegation and financial pressures. Does that sound familiar? Steve Yarwood resigned as joint manager of West Didsbury and Chorlton after their 7-0 defeat to Runcorn Town and immediately became involved in an unpleasant social media dispute with player Emmanuel Omorogbe. Rob Smethurst has stepped down once again as a director of Macclesfield to focus on personal interests. Has the recent controversy finally taken its toll? In part two of the show, AFC Knowsley manager David Platt joins us to discuss their recent promotion from the West Cheshire League, the challenges of meeting ground criteria, and his aspirations for the club. In the final part, we round up the fixtures with our expert analysis and predictions for the week ahead. All this and more.

TSFFS S3 EP5
TSFFS S3 EP5 On this week's episode of the show, we take a look at the ins and outs—the players who have signed and those who have left for pastures new. It's all heating up as a new season is about to start in the NWCFL, so we review this weekend's fixtures and make our predictions. In the controversial corner, we examine Widnes Town. One of their pre-season friendlies was postponed because they couldn't field a full team, and within days, they have made a plea for a chairman and committee members, claiming the lack of numbers is their weak spot. Surely this should have been addressed before they applied to join the counties? We consider the ramifications of Droylsden’s pitch invasion when they won a penalty shootout against Maghull in last season’s play-off final, and ask whether a three-match stadium closure order is a bit over the top. Scenes of relief and exhilaration were visible when the winning penalty was scored. This led to red flares being set off and unsavoury scuffles between rival fans, with one person being arrested. We've seen worse incidents in football, with less punishment. With video evidence of what happened, surely pursuing the worst offenders and punishing them more severely would have a greater impact. We also question what is going on at York City, as their National League-winning manager, Stuart Maynard, was bizarrely sacked due to a difference in direction and vision for the football club. We say farewell to our former coach and interim manager, Barney, and thank him for all the dedication and hard work he contributed to the club, as well as for all the laughs he brought us along the way. All this and more.

TSFFS S3 EP4
TSFFS S3 EP 4 This week's show features a look at Burscough and the news that Elliott Taylor has signed for Chorley. The good news is that Ben Barnes, Andrew Starkey, and Joel Skillen have put pen to paper. Chadderton have also been busy, but we discuss the impact of losing Lewis Byrne and Benito Lowe on the club's ambitions. Thornton Cleveleys have been recruiting players and reviewing their younger talent. The IOM Festival tournament was won by Bury, who defeated Radcliffe 2-1. We examine Sean McConville’s Clitheroe, who recently loaned Freddie Machel from Bury, and consider their prospects for this season. Gary Moore has opted for experience to help Lower Breck go further than the play-offs. We take our usual look at Marine and Southport before moving on to Controversial Corner. Big-hitters Flixton are back in the mix, with reports of a £6k budget. Walthamstow sacked their manager before he even started, and Real Aston Cubs believe they were victims of a refereeing conspiracy. It was kids' football, and it seems one or two heads got carried away. We discuss season tickets at non-league level and ask: are some clubs raising their prices unnecessarily? We also talk about fake kits, unruly children being banned from football, and finish with a few football jokes. All this and more.

TSFFS S3 EP3 In this week's show, we profile FC St Helens and take a look at how they are not only dealing with their recruitment ahead of the new season but also using social media to full advantage, with a great media team. We take a brief look at Atherton LR before switching to Widnes Town. Newcomers, AFC Knowsley, are going about their business effectively as well. We take a look at Clitheroe and see why manager Sean McConville is confident about their pre-season programme, as well as their forthcoming league campaign. In the controversial corner, we look at the Prescot Cables game being called off after Crewe Alexandra raised concerns about the pitch's safety. And then unsavoury events that unfolded in the game at Wythy Town, as an alleged Eric Cantona kung fu kick at Alty’s Charlie Olsen led to the game being abandoned. Berkhamsted forgot to appoint officials for the home game against Chesham United and then had to scramble to find some. It can only happen in non-league football. Parents are facing massive price hikes to keep their children playing football. Without genuine competition, the monopolisation of football means people can almost charge what they wish. Is it right that a kid has to pay a minimum of £35 a month to play football on a Saturday, and double that if he wants to play on a Sunday as well? And that's just the bronze package! It appears that kids are being priced out of the game. We take a look at the results from the weekend, the fixtures for the weekend ahead and the IOM Football Festival, which starts on Friday. Skem United had a good weekend as they won, so we discuss that, until the final bit where we talk about Britain’s rudest-sounding football clubs and place names. All this and more.

TSFFS S3 EP2
TSFFS S3 EP2 This week's show features a look at the local non-league scene. We delve into Ramsbottom United as manager Rob Henry implements changes. Congratulations to Burscough’s Chairman, Jay Hawkes, and his friends for raising nearly £1,800 for Derian House Charity during the West Lancashire Charity Cup launch. Euxton wasn't the only team celebrating on the weekend. We also give a sneak peek at other leagues, and clubs including Bury, Marine, and Southport. Bootle’s new plastic pitch is a step closer to completion. We discuss their new signings, their potential to win the league, and evaluate the prospects of Clitheroe, Lower Breck, Runcorn Linnets, Stalybridge Celtic, and the newly promoted Wythenshawe, among others. In controversial corner, we report on the departure of Eccleshall’s manager Liam Kelly, who stepped down after guiding his club to second place and a playoff final. What impact will this have on the club's future? We also consider whether clubs are failing mainly due to financial issues or if people—volunteers, players, and managers—are walking away because of the time required. We chat about Skem, as a new season approaches, and, if that's not enough, we review all three national competitions and the draws for each. All that and more.

TSFFS S3 EP1
TSFFS S3 EP1 In the first episode of series three, we take a look at all the key figures in the North West Counties. Since Phil Stafford took over as manager of Burscough FC, he's been busy recruiting players. Two of them had a combined total of 71 goals last season. We believe they will dominate the league, but as Staffo has said, “It looks good on paper, but we've got to make it work on the pitch. There is plenty of work to be done.” Atherton LR have been recruiting well, as have FC St Helens. We don't know much about the newcomers, but we've still managed to predict the champions of each division and the teams we think will finish in the play-off positions. We take a look at Skelmersdale United and Andy Barlow’s decision to step down, and also discuss the recruitment process. We also touch on some controversial topics, asking: Should we be blocking people on social media? In the past, the club has been criticised for blocking people when they've abused their power or free speech. Is it easier to block people than to try to educate them? All this and more.

TSFFS S2 EP42, FEATURING, GARY LANGLEY (NWCFL) AND PHIL STAFFORD (BURSCOUGH)
TSFFS S2 EP42 In this week's episode, we tackle all the controversial issues. The most prominent one is the FA League Allocations, and the show features league director Gary Langley to explain it from a NWCFL perspective. The JMO in Skelmersdale has increased its hire costs, and we ask whether they've gone too far, with some costs having doubled. It’s fair to say they've invested hundreds of thousands of pounds into improvements, but why are these costs being fully passed on to the people they've reached out to—those described as 'ad hoc customers'. We have an exclusive interview with the new manager of Burscough, Phil Stafford. Having just won the Macron Cup with AFC Liverpool, he was still riding high when the offer came through. We ask him some serious questions about who he's taking with him and what his remit is. We finish the show by discussing Skelmersdale United.

TSFFS S2 EP41 We are joined by Skelmersdale United Manager Andy Barlow as we review all the north-west winners and losers. After 1,330 games in management, Ramsbottom United Manager Steve Wilkes has decided to retire. We pay tribute to him. We also examine a few controversial issues, including Dorking Wanderers, who have sold a stake in their club to a US investor. And in the final part of the show, we host our non-league quiz of the week.

TSFFS S2 EP40 This week on our show, we give a round-up of the NWCFL. With titles decided and relegation issues sorted, we review the play-off semi-final results and look ahead to the finals. We cover all the non-league clubs in our area. Prescot have been relegated. Lower Breck and Runcorn Linnets are out of the play-offs, but Bury achieve their second consecutive promotion win. We discuss the controversial corner. Portishead Town have been relegated from the Southern League after failing their ground grading, all after finishing second in the Southern League Division One South. Some believe they've been unfairly treated, but deadlines are strict. Now, the chairman and several directors have decided to leave the club. Has the club expanded too quickly? Simon Heaton has left his role as manager of Abbey Hey following a cut to the club's budget. What's the future for a club that narrowly avoided relegation? City of Liverpool are currently without a home, and no new ground has been announced yet. Meanwhile, rumours of a breakaway team named FC Community have surfaced. Is this the end for COL? We also take a look at Skelmersdale United and finish the show with our prediction for the weekend. All that and more.

TSFFS S2 EP39
TSFFS S2 E39 We kick off with the pre-show, discussing all sorts of nonsense as usual. Then we move on to the important matters. NWCFL Round: Top spot and relegation issues are sorted. The play-offs are on the horizon. We glide around the National League North & The Northern Premier League, highlighting clubs in the north west making their mark. In our “Controversial Corner’, we examine gambling addiction, which is widespread among football circles, and ask if clubs could do more to protect those affected at the non-league level. Following the Mark Harris incident, FC United co-owner and supporter Jonathan Allsopp questions: Is the Northern Premier League fit for purpose? He believes laws on financial fair play are selective. We all know it's tricky to police, but everyone is aware that creative accounting has been part of semi-professional football since its early days. It's a contentious issue without doubt, but is Jonathan’s frustration because, like many FCUM supporters, they see a vendetta against their club? King's Lynn have been fined an enormous £10k following their ‘Sprinkler-Gate' scandal in February. They've avoided a points deduction, but can they appeal and get the fine reduced? We also discuss Gary Neville being verbally attacked on his way to a concert, Leicester City’s demise, and the expansion of Liverpool County Premier League, with Formby expected to play Skelmersdale United. How bizarre will that be? Skelmersdale United is playing an away game at the ground they once called home, against a team from Formby playing in Skem. You couldn't make it up, could you? All this and more.

TSFFS S2 EP38, FEATURING STEVE SCOTT, LITHERLAND REMYCA MANAGER
TSFFS S2 EP38 On this week's show. We have our usual roundup of football in the NWCFL as the season rapidly draws to a close. We take a look at local football in the National League North and the Northern Premier League. Bury could win the NPL West this weekend in front of a bumper crowd at Gigg Lane. They could replace Prescot Cables, who are on the brink of relegation from the NPL Premier Division. We reminisce about our recent visit to Clitheroe, a day out at a quintessential non-league football club. We revisit the demise of the NPL League Chairman, who was dismissed following an alleged unsavoury email to an FC United supporter. In the second part of the show, we speak to Litherland Remyca Manager, Steve Scott, who has taken the club from what looked like odds-on relegation to within touching distance of safety since his arrival in January. They face Burscough at home, and if Pilks lose, a win will see Scotty pulling off an escape akin to Houdini. In the final part of the show, we provide our predictions and expert analysis as usual All this and more.

They've gone unbeaten in their last sixteen matches, with an impressive streak of 10 consecutive wins. Nelson top Division One North but they've had a hectic schedule—five games in ten days, and they've battled hard. They're currently three points ahead of Droylsden, with a game in hand, but the race is still wide open. Runcorn are coming close to sealing the Division One South title. They're thirteen points clear of Eccelshall with just seven games remaining. We'll also cover the intense relegation battles across all divisions. Plus, a spotlight on local clubs like Bury, Bootle, Lower Breck, Marine, Prescot Cables, and Southport. Exciting news—they've sold out their upcoming FA Trophy semi-final against Southend with a staggering 5,600 tickets sold! Haig Avenue is about to light up! We delve into the controversial incident at the FA following the abandonment of the Avro vs Kidsgrove match last October, which was sparked by fighting. The FA have come to their conclusions. Maine Road is on the hunt for a new chairman and board to steer the club forward. Sadly, Kevin Lynch, a former Marine, Prescot Cables, and COL manager, was attacked outside Huyton & Prescot Golf Club over the weekend. He suffered serious injuries, and Joey Barton has been detained in connection with the incident. Regardless of the circumstances, a man is now facing life-changing injuries. TSFFS S2 EP32, FEATURING ADAM WILSON & MARTIN FALLON
TSFFS S2 EP32 This week's episode kicks off with an exciting update from the NWCFL, showcasing the key movers and shakers shaking up the division. We speak with the vice-chairman of Telford Town FC, Adam Wilson, who sheds light on ongoing rumours about his club, addressing reports of budget cuts and ambitions to climb higher. Next, we explore how local non-league clubs in the North West—such as Bootle, Bury, Clitheroe, and Prescot Cables—are performing in their respective divisions, highlighting their triumphs and challenges. The action continues as we review the latest from the FA Vase and FA Trophy. West Didsbury & Droylsden’s Vase run ends, but Marine and Southport are charging ahead, securing semi-final spots. We also revisit Chester, where Calum McIntyre’s tenure takes an unexpected turn. Initially planning to see out the season, Calum’s decision shifted, and Connell Rawlinson steps in as interim boss, sparking speculation about the club’s future leadership—with the thinking that their next manager has been decided already! In the second half, we chat with NWCF league representative Martin Fallon about his club, Runcorn Town, and then delve into the world of Groundhopping. Martin shares fascinating insights into how Groundhop events have energised local clubs and provided vital financial boosts over the past eight years, often unappreciated for the effort they require. We wrap up with our usual predictions and expert analysis, including an in-depth look at Skelmersdale United FC. All this and more—don’t miss it!

TSFFS S2 EP31 This week, we dive into the exciting world of North West Counties football, bringing you a lively roundup of the past week's results. But that's not all—get ready to explore local non-league action at various levels. Bury has made a big splash, convincing Veron Parny to sign on the dotted line. Their gain is, sadly, Clitheroe’s loss, arriving just as the club was hitting its stride. It's a thrilling FA Trophy weekend! Both Marine and Southport are in the 6th Round, each hosting key matches: Marine take on Woking, and Southport faces Yeovil. We'll also shine a spotlight on Bury, Bootle, Lower Breck, and Prescot Cables. Tonight's match promises excitement—Lower Breck hosts Bury in front of a packed crowd. A Bury win could see them leap seven points ahead, while a victory for Lower Breck would close the gap to just one. In our controversial corner, we tackle the ongoing issue of racism in football, highlighting recent disturbing incidents at Route One Rovers and Steeton. When and how can this ugliness be stopped? Chester FC’s board has issued an apology after their assistant manager and kit man responded angrily to fan frustrations. The fun seems to have faded from the game. And speaking of drama, Kings Lynn Town finds itself in hot water over a suspected match-fixing allegation. After their recent game against South Shields was postponed due to waterlogged pitches, photos surfaced suggesting their irrigation system was used to influence their postponement. If guilty, what consequences lie ahead? We wrap up with updates on Skem United and share our predictions for the week, including exciting matches during the groundhop weekend. Plus, we check in on Droylsden and West Didsbury & Chorlton, both in the sixth round of the FA Vase. All this and more—stay tuned for an action-packed episode!

TSFFS S2 EP30 Join us as we welcome Andy Barlow, the manager of Skelmersdale United, to this exciting episode! This week, we're diving into lively discussions with our guest panellist, Andy Barlow, whose stellar non-league football career makes him the perfect voice to discuss local football scenes. We kick things off with the NWCFL, the Macron Cup, and spotlight some of the league’s biggest movers and shakers, lighting up the competition. Next, we venture into the National League and Northern Premier League, highlighting stories from Bootle, Clitheroe, Prescot, Marine, Southport, and more. But it's not all about praise—controversy takes centre stage. We explore the disrespect shown by Chelsea players towards young supporters and delve into the ongoing saga at Brickfield Rangers, where referees are being asked not to officiate due to threats and abuse from a manager targeting U18 officials. The blanket ban on refereeing at Rangers at all levels remains in force. We also reveal the well-kept secret of Dave Kitson's surprising self-outing as the “Secret Football Manager.” A former player who penned revealing articles for The Guardian and authored books exposing the darker side of professional football, Kitson took a huge career risk by speaking out in an era when whistleblowing was more dangerous. Turning to Andy Barlow’s journey in football, we explore how he started at Manchester City as a youth and, despite not reaching the top tiers, achieved notable milestones, including advancing to the FA Cup second round and drawing Manchester United in the third-round draw! We wrap up with our signature predictions and insightful analysis of upcoming fixtures. All that and much more—stay tuned and get ready for an episode packed with passion, controversy, and expert insights.

TSFFS S2 EP29 This week, we dive into a lively roundup of the NWCFL, highlighting all the key movers and shakers shaping the league. We also explore the vibrant world of local non-league football in the National League North and the Northern Premier League. Bury fans' long-standing wish came true as Anthony Johnson parted ways with Radcliffe. However, this change sparked a split in the football club, with Bernard Morley remaining at Radcliffe. Managing his boyhood team has always been a dream for Johnson, so it is an understandable departure. In a heated segment, we examine Droylsden’s FA Vase triumph over Bilston Town—a victory marred by a shocking outbreak of violence at the final whistle. Chester supporter Lee Newman faces a three-year ban after an incident at Worksop Town, where he entered the away dressing room to hurl abuse at his own players and staff following a 2-1 defeat. While crossing boundaries raises the question: Is there a limit to what’s acceptable when it comes to fan conduct? TSFFS S2 EP28
Join us once again as we immerse ourselves in the vibrant world of the NWCFL. With the season hurtling toward its exhilarating climax, we spotlight the clubs soaring to new heights and those facing tough challenges. We'll celebrate Marine and Southport, fresh off remarkable victories in the FA Trophy's fifth round, and reveal their upcoming quarter-final opponents. The Northern Premier League West heats up, with Lower Breck enduring three straight defeats and Runcorn Linnets climbing to the summit. Their crucial clash this weekend could be a game-changer—a true six-pointer. Meanwhile, Morecambe has made headlines by replacing its manager and bringing back club legend Jim Bentley for the rest of the season. What’s driving the trend of interim managers, and why are clubs hesitant to commit long-term? Who will step into Chester’s managerial role next? Once again, a club has issued a termination notice. More clubs seem to be taking this route—could they already have successors in mind, waiting in the wings? The FA’s plans to expand Step Six leagues from 17 to 24 raise questions. Will this dilute the divisions further? Could it lead to financial challenges as divisions possibly shrink? The NWCFL already faces tough times with fewer than 20 teams in the North and South. Could we see divisions reduced to just 16 teams? With Wolverhampton Sporting Community resigning from NWCFL Div One South, we ask: Is the strain of heavy travel too much to bear? Or should clubs prepare for these challenges? Finding the right balance in non-league football feels more complicated than ever—and perhaps it’s an issue the FA needs to address. We conclude with our latest update on Skem, bold predictions for the week ahead, and expert insights to keep you ahead of the game. All this and much more await you. Dive in and stay tuned for an action-packed journey through non-league football.

We speak to Colne FC co-chairman Trevor Abraham in the second part of the show to discuss how tough it is to run a club on pure love, sweat and tears. The final part of the show looks at Skelmersdale United and their recent 7-1 defeat to East Villa Rail, before we round up with our usual predictions and expert analysis. All that and more.

TSFFS S2 EP26
TSFFS S2 EP26 We kick off this episode with our lively NWCFL roundup, highlighting last week's results and shining a special spotlight on Burscough Football Club, who are riding high with incredible form. They've also announced their unique "football for a five” event ahead of this weekend's clash against Prestwich Heys. Controversial Corner is riddled with heated debates. Tommy Taylor’s sensational attack on his opponent has gone viral. During a match between Trearddur Bay FC and Porthmadog in the Ardal North West League, Taylor delivered a vicious elbow that floored his rival. We ponder: what should be the appropriate punishment? A lifetime ban? Or could we draw parallels to Eric Cantona’s infamous kung-fu kick over thirty years ago, which resulted in community service and an eight-month suspension? Police have already bailed him, and things aren’t looking good. But at 35, will a ban really change anything? We wrap up the show by analysing Skelmersdale United, the latest headlines from the LCP, including the breaking news that Deysbrook FC has resigned from the league: our predictions and expert insights into upcoming fixtures complete the episode. All this and more—stay tuned.

TSFFS S2 EP 25, FEATURING GLYNN HURST
TSFFS S2 EP25 We start as usual with a rundown of the events over the last week in the NWCFL, and look at the winners and losers. We take a look at Macclesfield and their giant-killing of FA Cup holders Crystal Palace. Both Marine and Southport have progressed to the next round of the FA Trophy, but Clitheroe’s fantastic run has come to an end. American investment is becoming more prevalent in non-league football, and to add to the list of takeovers, Stafford Rangers are in the process of being bought out. In part two of the show, we speak to our special guest, Glynn Hurst. Glynn has had a stellar career in the professional game and is now putting his expertise to the test as the new manager of Pilkington FC. In part three of the show, we talk about all things Skelmersdale United before delivering our predictions for the week ahead, as well as our expert analysis. All that and more.

TSFFS S2 EP24
TSFFS S2 E24 As always, we kick things off with an energetic roundup of the NWCFL, highlighting the clubs that thrived despite the challenging festive weather. We delve into the issues at the City of Liverpool, questioning whether the club can weather the storm or if it's facing an uncertain future. Meanwhile, Marine set a new 21st-century record attendance on Boxing Day with 2,314 fans watching their thrilling 4-2 victory over local rivals Southport. Prescot Cables has been forced to tighten its belt again, losing players in the process. Is midseason cutbacks a smart move or a risky gamble? Shocking managerial changes include Brad Cooke stepping down from Runcorn Linnets and Michael Clegg departing from Atherton Collieries. The biggest surprise? Matty Boswell leaving third-placed Telford Town in NWC Division One South to join struggling Shawbury United, languishing near the bottom of the same division. What’s behind these moves? Bury FC faces uncertainty as they search for a new leader after Dave McNabb. With interim manager Tim Lees at the helm, should they stick with him or bring in an outsider? Only results will tell. Ruben Amorim talked himself out of biggest job in the world—was it a wise career move, or is he laughing all the way to the bank? Interestingly, at non-league level, managers often talk themselves out of positions to avoid appearing at fault. We wrap up by shining a spotlight on Skelmersdale United and then look ahead by previewing the upcoming NWCFL fixtures. Get ready for an exciting ride!

TSFFS S2 EP23
TSFFS S2 EP23 On this week's show, we look at all things NWCFL and the movers and shakers. We take a look at Clitheroe’s triumphant victory over National League Premier Division team York City in the FA Trophy, as well as Marine & Southport’s progress to the 4th round. We shape up for a controversial corner, where we discuss the shenanigans at Bury FC and their shock appointment of Michael Jolley, which didn't last long, as within a couple of days he resigned when social media decided to put a man convicted of a sex offence on trial again. Tim Lees has been appointed interim Manager until the end of the season, with Sam Ashton joining him as his assistant. This seems to be a very popular appointment amongst the supporters. But the question is, can a supporter-run football club destroy the fabric within it, or are the custodians the ones at fault? We look at the finalised details of David Stockdale’s takeover at Farsley Celtic. They will now become FC Farsley Sports Club, now that the club has been liquidated and Paul Barthorpe has given up control of the club. We finish the end-of-year show, talking all things Skelmersdale United, and give our final predictions and our expert analysis on local football. All that and more.

TSFFS S2 EP22, featuring Liam Kelly
TSFFS S2 EP22 This week, we dive into the NWCFL and highlight the key clubs making headlines. We review all the clubs that participated in the FA Vase last weekend and discuss the draw for the 4th Round. In the FA Trophy 3rd round, we examine Clitheroe’s showcase fixture against York, Southport’s home tie versus Leek Town, Marine's game against Curzon Ashton, and Radcliffe’s tough away trip to Hereford. In the controversial section of the show, Paul McNally has been announced as the new manager of the newly formed Widnes Town. Southport has received backing from the FA after deciding to call off their Liverpool Senior Cup match against COL due to historical debts. The question remains: do Southport get a bye to the next round? In the second part of the show, we speak to Eccleshall manager Liam Kelly, whose no-nonsense attitude is making waves in the NWC Division One South. At just 33 years old, he has steadily progressed the club each season since taking the role four years ago. In the final part of the show, we discuss Skelmersdale United before turning our attention to predictions for the week ahead, alongside our expert analysis. All that and more.

TSFFS S2 EP 21

TSFFS S2 EP 21
TSFFS S2 EP 21 We begin the show with our usual feature on the NWCFL, covering all the highs and lows, and the key movers and shakers. Lower Brecks captain Connor Millington attributes the club's success to unity. “They are going that extra 10 per cent for each other,” he says. But what has happened at Bury, who've moved their manager upstairs and are currently seeking a replacement? Radcliffe has confirmed that an approach was made regarding Managers Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley, and wishes to clarify that it has been formally rejected. One assumes this was for the vacant position at Bury. We ask, what kind of manager is the right fit for the club? In the controversial section of the show, we examine Prescot Cables' decision to forfeit their game against Lower Breck in the Liverpool Senior Cup, without a goalkeeper fit enough to compete. “Rules set by the County FA state that, as this is a rescheduled fixture following an earlier postponement on 17th November, only players registered with the club on the original match date are eligible. The FA has rejected our request for dispensation to register the emergency loan, which leaves us facing the farcical prospect of playing without a goalkeeper.” Are the rules more of a hindrance than a help? Morecambe have hit the headlines again, not long after it had all gone quiet. This time, one of the key figures involved in Morecambe’s summer takeover and ongoing management has been sanctioned by the UK government, suspected of links to terrorist organisations in India. Shock or storm in a teacup? If you can't offer a balanced critique to a referee face-to-face, is it fair to do so on a public forum? The refereeing fraternity thinks not, and they're not backwards in coming forward with their opinions. We discuss our latest experience with a referee at our level and pose all kinds of questions. We finish the show with our usual predictions and expert analysis. All that and more.

TSFFS S2 EP20
TSFFS S2 EP20 After a no-show last week, we're back with an epic episode that kicks things into high gear! We open with a heartfelt tribute to Roly Howard, who sadly passed away at 90 last week. Roly was a legend not just here but far and wide, thanks to his unwavering loyalty to Marine, a club he managed for an incredible 33 years, earning himself a spot in the Guinness Book of Records. Next up, Ramsbottom manager Steve Wilkes hits a remarkable milestone, surpassing 1,300 matches over a 28-year managerial career. Congratulations to him! As always, we round up the NWCFL and local non-league football before diving into some hot-button issues. Big news: Richard Brodie has been appointed the new manager of the City of Liverpool. We debate— is this a golden opportunity for him or a potential poison chalice? We also analyse Marine and Southport's recent strong form in the National League North. Then, it’s time for the controversial headlines: AFC Rushden & Diamonds’ match abandoned due to sexist comments toward a female assistant; Eastbourne Borough FC reimbursing supporters after a poor result; and the shocking story of a Sunday league player jailed for 12 months for attacking an opponent. The NWCFL and Midland League have joined forces to call for talks with the FA to redefine league boundaries. We discuss whether the current system is flawed, especially given rising travel costs and the dilution of the pyramid structure. We explore the world of football agents and ask—the right time for a player to sign with one, especially at this level, where it seems downright bonkers! Flixton FC, dissolved 13 years ago, reformed in February and now seeks entry into the NWCFL. Should they be forced to start at step seven or be given a chance to bypass that based on their history? We wrap up with a focus on Skem United, followed by our weekend predictions and expert analysis. All that and more—stay tuned for an action-packed episode!
